Honestly, that makes more sense. Never did the calculation since I didn't know what kind of truck it was, but seeing the mould next to an Alt/BT I at the time thought it was likely at least a 1:30 scale, perhaps even 1:35 scale. 1:40 also sounds acceptable. He just seems about the same as the RotF leader Optimus and that also in that range, I think.
that's a tiny semi, but i guess looking at him most of his mass is in the shoulders/truck engine which throws off his proportions a bit. he is MP10 sized who's a 1:35 cabover tho, so they probly chose robot mode scale over alt mode
SS Bonecrusher: Vehicle mode: 27ft (source: Buffalo (mine protected vehicle) - Wikipedia) Alt-mode (length): 15cm or 5.9in Scale: 1:54.864 (~1:55) Robot mode (height): 12.5cm or 4.9in Approximate robot height in movie based on this scale: 687.5cm or 22ft tall
Studio Series Scrapper Vehicle mode (length): 15.25cm Robot mode (height): 15.5cm Caterpillar 992G (Length with Bucket on Ground): 51.2ft (1560.6cm) Scale: 1:102 Theoretical real robot height: 52ft (1581cm) Source: Caterpillar 992G Wheel Loader Specs, Dimensions, Comparisons : CEG
SS crowbar 10 gen Suburban is 222.4 in long Figure length is 4 in 1/49 scale In robot mode he would be 24.3 feet
Going by the AOE scale thread Western star is 505 in. Figure length is 7.28 in 1/69 scale. In robot mode he would be 40.8 ft tall?
So with Fortress Maximus we have: Fortress/Spike (human sized), the transtector/Cerebros (Autobot sized), Fortress Maximus (huge) but for Brave Maximus it's: Plasma (Autobot sized), the transtector/head (huge), Brave Maximus (even bigger). Is this the only instance of the exact same toy having two wildly different scales or are there others?
@sikkusushotto How about Fortress Maximus itself? The Sunbow cartoon and Headmasters made him huge, as you said. But in the Marvel comics the exact same character was just a big Transformer. Spike/Galen as the headmaster, Cerebros as a 'normal' sized Autobot, and Fortress Maximus as about the same size as Powermaster Optimus Prime, i.e. about two heads taller than Grimlock.
Scorponok had the same problem. If we take the Brave Maximus toy proportions as correct (Car Robots/RID really did well with accuracy) and his listed height as 350m (1148ft), his head is roughly 10% of his total height, giving a height of 35m (115ft). The transtector body would then be over 70m (230ft) tall in robot mode, assuming the head mode is roughly half the size of the robot mode body, which it more or less is. This would give us a height range of around 10 to 15m (33 to 49ft) for Plasma, which is large but reasonable, although it seems like that would invalidate this scene:
Some musings based off of the figures I have. All scales are approximate due to me lacking a caliper. TFTM Swindle: 1:34~ TFTM Payload: 1:60~ TFTM Dreadwing: 1:80~ SS Barricade: 1:44~ SS Bonecrusher: 1:55~ SS Brawl: 1:54~ SS Starscream: 1:85~ SS Blackout: 1:75~ SS Rampage: 1:57~ SS Long Haul: 1:58~ (Red Goblin says it's 11.5 meters long which would mean Long Haul is 1:74, but most specifications for his alt mode say he's about 9 meters long) SS Mixmaster: 1:54~ SS Scrapper: a complete mess, but 1:84~ SS Hightower: a complete mess, but 1:107 based off of treads alone SS Soundwave: 1:36~ SS Dropkick: 1:41~
Forgive me if it has been posted before, but does anyone have the exact scale for AOE Voyager Galvatron? I am looking to purchase a model trailer for him but am not good at car scaling.
