This is a similar setup as the pics I posted 2 years ago, but swapped the firetruck Magnus with the more show-accurate Optimus remold. And hopefully my camera is a little better than before.

 

Got myself a second-hand PRID Optimus Prime from a flea market last week for quite a low price. I would prefer the FE version (Or even the APC KO), but for a second-hand price of only MYR 60 (around USD 15) I got pretty much what I expected. When I got it, it didn't includes any of its included weapons (But considering how bad the "MechTech" thing actually are with this figure, that's not much of a loss).

The base figure is perfectly fine, but color-wise it's a bit bland. I disassembled the forearms and spray-painted the translucent blue forearm parts with red color, as well as add some red paint on the chest and spray-painted the feet parts with a metallic silver color for a more toon-accurate look.

I'm almost done with the painting, and now the only thing left to do is some cleaning up and touch-up.




I didn't do much with the truck mode, and the only thing I've done are painting the wheel rims with the some grey paint and adding some white paint on the fog-lights of the upper section of the windshield.

 

Heck, the silver paint on his feet makes him look 50% better alone. I like the red paint on his forearms, that looks good too. That was one of the reasons I didn't like voyager Prime, but he suited his purpose until I got the FE one. He's still my first Prime. The thing I disliked the most about him, was that his boobs always unclipped and moved with his arms, and his backpack. Other that I loved his colors a lot more than the FE one. The gray legs on the FE one have always disturbed me.

 

Do you think they'll ever bring the prime figures back? Re watching the show with my son, have to say it's still a pretty good entertaining show for what it is. Although I know there are haters of the show...Beats a lot of other toons out there, especially animation wise.

 

I have been wanting reissues for quite some time.

 

I'd have expected it to happen this year, being the 10th anniversary. Since there haven't been any announcements, I'm guessing they aren't doing anything. I thought a couple of platinum edition boxes might have been made. I guess the show isn't popular enough to be worthwhile. Between that and the expense of reusing some of those molds, it probably isn't going to happen. This is one of those cases I'd love to be wrong, though.

 

I'd love a Prime Studio Series line. Behind Beast Wars it's the series I want to get it's own line

 

They are doing Arcee and Knockout in the R.E.D. line, so they haven't completely forgotten about TFPrime. I'm hoping for some reissues as well and maybe even a Hardshell or new Airachnid.

 

Masterpiece line would be awesome too  

 

A new version of Bulkhead would be pretty sweet as well.

 

Man I remember getting First Edition Cliffjumper back in 2012 when he had to be imported. Found him a couple months back and the translucent socket that held his head on shattered. Such a shame. He was my first Prime figure and an awesome one at that.
