It felt like a good time as any to make a thread for this line: Details are rather sparse, but apparently the idea is "what if Takara used CHUG engineering on non-Transformers?" Case in point, the first entry in this line is the first Brave Series robot to grace Japanese TV and toy stores: KING EXKAISER! Probably by coincidence, there's a King Exkaiser made by Bandai Namco for their Soul of Chogokin line, but that one will be more high-end with diecast metal and be around $200-300+. Meanwhile, Toyrise King Exkaiser, while not inexpensive at 27,500 JPY (or $190.97) seems more focused on play instead of just display, since he sports 5mm fists and appears to be all plastic. If I can try to use a Transformers analogy, Toyrise King Exkaiser is like a larger CHUG (think Legacy Armada Optimus; pricey, but not horribly so) while SOC KE is like a Masterpiece Transformer (think MP-44). Upcoming entries (that we've seen prototypes of): Dragon Exkaiser and Great Exkaiser (will DE come on its own or with its own Exkaiser?) Genesic GaoGaiGar GaoGaiGar GaoFighGar (Contrast to the Exkaiser bots, the GGGs will be 7 inches and have interchangeable parts. Swappable arm, leg, and jet pieces?) Bravern with the Burn Dragon (Not a Brave Series robot officially, but I guess we've all come to consider him an honorary one?) Saint Blaster, from the Bomberman anime (Honestly drawing a blank on this one since I'm not 100% familiar with Bomberman's anime...)
This is exciting news! It's great to have more options in the realm of giant robot toys. Toyrise King Exkaiser looks great.
