Update

Vector is basically done. Added some shoulder and forearm bits that I’m satisfied with. Also threw a functional watch into his chest to tribute his Kronoform period.


Added a little more colour to Micronus, I’ll probably do some panel lining once my hand feels a little steadier.


Working on Quintus now, think I found a way to make them a bit more interesting.

I don’t think I’ll be tackling Beast Machines figures anytime soon, unfortunately.

I did think that a Botanica figure, if one was ever made, would have been a perfect base for Quintus though.

So I want to mention something about Onyx. he is flat out, a Centaur. the art you are using as references are either wrongly interpreted, a shitty angle of him rearing up on his hind legs, a mixture of both of those things, or blatantly NOT Onyx Prime (in IDW shockwave took his place and pretended to be him, so in some images hes bipedal when he should be a centaur, that's not Onyx, that's shockwave wearing his skin)

THIS is the best image of the actual Onyx Prime there is.

 

I’m familiar with the IDW take on him and the wrong interpretations etc, I just liked the Shockwave in cosplay colour layout more than doing another mostly gold figure. The optional Centaur mode is more of a personal preference as I prefer the bipedal “wrong” look.

 

I love all of these! i've never really delved into the lore of the 13, but these are some of the most accurate I've seen! Whos the base for Micronus if i may ask? (Also, saw the little lego stud and i love it!)

 

Micronus appears to be Combiner Wars Shockwave, has the gun arm and all

 

There's gotta be a nicer way of saying, "I see you interpreted him differently in your art, but I prefer THIS depiction of Onyx Prime."

I'm sorry you took it that way, but I have no issue with your custom, its quite nice actually and i regret i didn't say so before... my comment was strictly meant to be about the context of Onyx Prime and his nonsense that is him being misinterpreted in the comic art rather than your interpretation of said art.
