Rise of the Resistance is pretty impressive, all the technical effects, lighting, immersion efforts. The best part was obviously the really fun end ride. The highlight was the drop.

    Oh Yeah!

I love Rise of the Resistance. My Star Wars loving Cousin is really jealous. He heard it was the best ride in Disneyland. However, he told me he does not want to be spoiled. Because he wants to go again, but it could be years until he sees Disneyland again.

The ride portion is probably one of my favorite rides I’ve ever gone on at Disney.

Guys omg I just got out of the updated Fantasmic and I was NOT expecting to be weeping during it like I was. The new segments are amazing; the Mulan segment could be bigger but maaaaan the Moana segment took me OUT.

So for the two Star Wars ride. I did like Rise of the Resistance better overall...but I found during the "drop" part Star Tours was way better.

Harmonious at Epcot is freaking amazing. I wish they’d actually dimmed more of the lights but holy shit, it was incredible. So many bangers are used and in such cool ways. Go the Distance plus How Far I’ll Go; the Africa medley culminating with honestly one of the absolute best covers of Can You Feel the Love Tonight I’ve ever heard the last 30 years; the transition from the Beauty and the Beast prologue to the Hunchback motif that BOOMED; Mexico and Latin America’s segment stealing the show with incredible fireworks; and Dig a Little Deeper going off. And the finale using the obscure credits song of Hunchback.

I’ve seen articles shared by the algorithm on Facebook saying people hate Harmonious. What bullshit. That was one of the best things I’ve ever experienced in person at a Disney park. It feels authentic to people and to the IP’s it used.

Because of the new ride in Toontown, Newer Lightsaber parts at Savi's and Nintendo world, I hope to go again in the next year or so. But let's just say I'm hoping to celebrate if something happens in 2024.

People hate Harmonious because the barges look like shit and ruin World Showcase Lagoon. The show itself is fine, but not good enough for the tradeoff. Thankfully the show and the barges are both going away.

Can't get into the details, but I heard some big but unfortunate news for Disney World district. But I can't understand what that's all about or how it effects. Can someone explain?

Basically, Disney tried to step into politics and DeSantis is firing back by stripping Disney of its ability to functionally bypass a lot of government regulations like construction permits, etc.

So would that mean like future plans could be put to a halt or bigger stricter rules?

It would be much harder for Disney to do spur of the moment changes for sure.

So like if they wanted to expand the park, it's going to be harder?

Only thought of like some bad changes to maybe rules or how they operate or stuff like Princess and the Frog ride or Zootopia park won't happen anymore.

Disney's not going to be expanding any time soon. The earnings call they just had was absolutely dire because they're losing money hand over foot and need to cut costs by 5.5 billion.

So like no changes to rules or changes to their original renovations?

Park Operations as you know them are likely to not change.

But Disney isn't going to be able to mount any effective counter against Universal's Epic Universe. They put their eggs in the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser and lo and behold - it's a complete and utter failure to the point Disney is canceling reservations because they don't have enough people to fill it to the point it can even work on a minimum capacity level.

And given the sheer amount of backlash going on with Splash Mountain and the fact Disney can't completely go scorched Earth with any trace of the ride since Tokyo Disney (where Disney only has a 49% stake control) told them to go pack sand on the idea? It's up in the air if the retheme is going to happen. It probably will happen for Disney World since the ride animatronics are ancient and it would be cheaper to make new ones, but that's the most I see happening.

If anything, I would expect Disney World to start pulling back on things you can do there in an effort to trim the fat from the baseline operation budgets.

Where are you pulling this nonsense from? It's called Splash Mountain because its a standard log flume ride. It was based on Song of the South's Brer Rabbit characters. I may not have been there since the early 90s, but I do remember going when it opened, and nowhere was there so much of a hint of the movie Splash in its theming or marketing.
