I think I will make a proposal: managers can earn bonuses if they remain in their offices and don't come out to interfere with work being done. I have just spent an hour redoing something because a manager decided to change the plan on how it was going to get done. Should have taken ten, fifteen minutes, tops, but the person who had to make the changes also kept screwing it up. Then the manager got irritated that it was taking so long. Where, if he had just left everything as it was, followed the original plan, it would have been finished long before he even decided to change things. I hate to give them more money, but it seems the surest way to get them to stay out of the process of getting the work done.
Just following up but I did get my review today and it was glowing - plus I got the promotion I was hoping for and I'll likely hear about my raise tomorrow since management was trying to get through a lot of people today to make up for all the delays over the past two months. This takes a LOT of stress off me, though, and I'm not as worried about the job situation over the coming year.
Making enough money I'm contemplating on buying this... 85-Inch Class QN900C Samsung Neo QLED 8K Smart TV (2023) | Samsung US But it's not 3d...I don't think. I'm reading...and reading EDIT: FYI from actually working in a job...not a Youtube thing, hehehehehe
Keeping track of the cows and when you don't see a six day old calf with her mother at the feedlot, you go find her. I sent my dad on the tractor around the field while I was feeding the group up at the stable and he comes back finding nothing in the usual hiding spots. So I drove until found her in the south pasture. Hiding in a cool shaded spot he didn't think about, which is why her mother stashed her there. The calf is fine, she was just napping. EDIT!! I went looking for her again after dinner, and found her napping in the calf pile with the herd, and a full belly . Yes, sleeping on their side is normal. You can see her eyes moving, tail wagging.
I know too well, the willingness to work more lol. My job started paying overtime last year, soy time sheet has been 115 hours minimum every two weeks. Man toys are expensive...lol
First hay cut of the season, and we're stuck waiting on a mechanic to figure out what the flip flailing f*** happened with the round roller after we just had it serviced. At least with the chamber opened, I have a place to sit in the shade.
Did volunteer work today at my local food relief centre boxing donated shelf stable food & other essential products. I've volunteered here a few days a year over the past 5 years or so but I've never seen so many people/cars line up for handouts. Many, being their first time. Many, holding down jobs.
Dudes...ettes Work was so busy today.... I crushed shoulders after work, I loved it...love it. I hope everyone was able to have a good work day today
score! so I initially just had little bits of OT to tack onto my 12 hr shifts...for a measly 16 hr work day. But I just scored a full 16hr OT shift. This will pay for that Robosen Grimlock
score! another 16hr day I'm only working 120 hrs this work week! NOW I don't feel SO guilty plunking down for that Robosen Glock
Jesus, hopefully you guys were able to figure out what was wrong cause from what I've seen, it looks like you guys had a real cluster fuck on your hands. Great to see another farmer/rancher on the tfw2005 boards too!
We figured it out. It just took a a few trials and errors to get the density settings right. This was from a week ago, on the same field. The Kubota roller is a more complicated computer system compared to our previous rollers from John Deere and New Holland. It's very sensitive to how dense or light the crop is and if you don't have the settings right, you get those kinds of blow outs. Moreover, the added annoyance of that last second 'gulp' of grass into the roller as it begins the wrap process can cause oblong bales that bounce and hit the belt, and rip the mesh off.
Good that you guys got it figured out, from what you’re saying about the Kubota roller, sounds a little more complex than what I'm used to . (Mostly due to our having equipment being a little bit older.)
