This thread is dedicated to general car news, videos, and reviews. For posts regarding TFW members' cars, check out Show Your Ride 2.0.

To start off, here's Doug DeMuro. An automotive journalist formerly with Jalopnik, DeMuro currently runs his own blog on Autotrader.com called Oversteer. He also runs his own YouTube channel, where he travels all over North America to review cars. He may be no Jeremy Clarkson, but his reviews are very hilarious.

Not sure if I can post this here or not but any of you guys own a 2011 and up Dodge Charger? I've had Pontiac's for most of my adult life but after buying a new 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee this year, I feel like the Charger will be my next car replacing my 2007 Supercharged Grand Prix GT. GM doesn't make anything exciting anymore, at least nothing in the way of a sports sedan that I can afford. The new Impalas look like a Camry or something to me, don't want a Camaro, already own a Trans Am, they really don't make any cool sports sedans any more. CTS-V and ATS-V are way more than I can afford.

I've test driven a bunch of Chargers, mostly 2014s and some 2015s. The wife had them on her radar before she went with the Jeep. I think 2014 is the last year that you can get a awd RT, which given that I live in MN, would be the one I'd want. I knkw the 2015 sxt is available with awd but the V6 in those cars is like driving a tank and expecting it to be quick. Any major issues in the 2011-2015s that anybody is aware of? Also, I heard they were getting a redesign, when is that supposed to happen?

As a person who owns an Aventador SV, Doug's views on the various quirks and pricing are hilarious, and completely spot on. All of that goes out the window, the minute you give her a tiny bit of gas. She can also be quite civilized and docile when I want her to be, but the SV is obviously not the car that you'd want to take shopping. On a road course however, it's absolutely incredible and confidence inspiring. The single clutch really shines when the SV is used for what it was built for.

In other exciting news: I can't bloody wait for this beauty to get delivered.

I had to go with the 10-speed because of how bloody ridiculous, fast, and advanced it is. The Garnet Red was very tempting, but my favorite color is blue, and Hyper Blue will just make the car pop in the sunlight.

Haha, remind me mate :) . The big girl is away getting detailed and protected right now. Clear coats work WONDERS on cars, whatever they are. Oh, and whatever questions any of you may have about the car, I'll be more than happy to answer them ;) .

Never thought I'd ever consider a Kia but wow, does this car scream Pontiac G8/Chevy SS/BMW to me. It's called the Kia Stinger haha. I like the name. 4 banger turbo/V6 TT rwd or awd option in the GT. Don't know anything about Kia reliability though.

I've owned a Kia for almost five years, and I've had no problems with it. And last year, Kia beat Porsche, Hyundai, Toyota, and BMW on J.D. Power's reliability survey.

Wow, didn't know they were that good, that means they beat GM but a mile then haha. All I've ever owned was GM Pontiac to be specific, as I said earlier, I was looking into a Dodge Charger as I want a cool sports sedan but not looking to break the bank. This car looks pretty hot, will have to see when it drops later this year. Just hard for me to get behind that Kia name but if it ends up being sweet, I could get over it.

    Ouch!

In contrast, the U.S.-based IIHS gave the Mustang an "Acceptable" rating on their small overlap crash test and a "Good" rating on their side crash test.

Did you ever think bullshit crash testing, government regulations, air bags and cupholders are the things that have taken real cars from us and forced most of them so upscale in price people can't afford them....................

I don't need air bags, stability control, tire pressure monitoring, 35 cupholders, rear view camera or all the other bullshit.

I'll take crank windows, cd player, air and antilock brakes, piss on the rest.

I'll also go for 2 doors, trunk, passable backseat and RWD. The world needs a new G body GM, it is time!

While I would tend to agree with you about most of what you said......I know I absolutely love the new gadgets in our 2016 Grand Cherokee. Has back up camera, which I don't need, but having plenty of cupholders, nav, remote start, heated steering wheel, heated seats, XM/Sirus radio and awd are AWESOME, especially in the winter with how cold it gets. It also comes in handy when you have to drag your kid and some of his teammates to and fro during AAU basketball season.

Crank windows suck if I had to live with those everyday like back when I had my Formula. Hell not even my 89 GTA or either of your Birds have crank windows as old as they are. And CDs, can't remember the last time I even listed to one. The Jeep doesn't have a CD player like a lotta new cars now. If I'm not on the XM radio in the Jeep I'm listening to my USB stick in the 07 Grand Prix. Maybe when I get my GTA going again then I'll have time to fire up an old CD.

Maybe, maybe not. Remember we all survived with rear wheel drive. When RWD rules the day, you rarely found any vehicle in snow belt state or country without posi out back.

Crank windows don't break and they are lighter. Electric are nice, but lots of parts to break(and they do) and it adds weight.

Remote start is about the worst thing you can do to a vehicle................yes it's nice to get into a warm vehicle, but the most wear occurs on cold starts and the worst thing you can do is cold start and let it sit there and warm up. I've swapped out head units in about everything and I have USB/MP3 hookups in about everything. Rarely use them. Drop the windows, pop the T's out and slide in a driving CD.

We need some variety on RWD, 2 doors and a trunk. Bring back the G.

We only got cars like the TTA, GNX, Typhoon/Syclone, SVO, GLH because people cared and a car company could do it. With all the bullshit involved in todays world, the likes of seeing stuff like that are next to nonexistent. Now they all look alike.......................
