All three sets of pistons 'work'. The base joint is very very tight. And I understand you being scared of damaging it. It is on a very aggressive ratchet. Mine is still very tight and I have moved mine a lot since I have been absentmindedly transforming it all the time ever since I got it. I guess TFC didn't want the digger arm flopping about the place EVER, lol.

The black plastic of the base is very strong in my experience. It looks to me as if the arm is literally forced in there, and the green 'screws' are just a solid peg that is part of the arm making the hinge. There are large raised ridges on the base of the arm that lock into a groove hidden in the black base. I have no idea how to get that apart to loosen it if I wanted to, and I would be afraid to try.

got one of mine today. Anyone else's missing a screw from the crane part (specifically the hydraulic nearest to post)?

 

seems like they have a QC problem from everyone saying what they are missing.

 

For anyone who has Exgraver in hand, how solid are the knee hinges? They look similar to the elbow hinges on the Hook and Scrapper prototypes.

My only concern with any of these figures so far is that those hinges might be a bit fragile. Any cause for concern there?

 

They seem good and solid.

Another QC issue I had was the feet. The front an back halves of the foot are married together in the middle (via gear system) So - folding the front half of the foot (into the treads for alt mode) the back/heel of foot should do the same, however, the heel was a click or 2 off, protruded out a hair from the tread while in alt mode. Rather than force the heel flush (potentially damaging the gear's teeth) I took apart the lower leg, and positioned them correctly.

Anyone else's get one with a loose head? It holds position, but it just seems to not be on there very tight. Other than that mine is solid

Also, just FYI , since I keep seeing people missing it, the silver/gray parts on his arms unfold to pegs for his treads to plug into to keep his vehicle mode more stable

Eventual box set aside, there will be at least another run of each figure. TFC is in it to make money to to make a super rare TF that will sell for a ton on ebay. They make money off of their sales not off of fans selling their product for 2 or 3 times as much on ebay.


I think with Herc and most all 3rd party groups you can snooze for quit some time before we lose.

I don't see a box set, if there were, it would be $600 minimum from retailers. Though, it would suck to see all 6 in a box set for $4-500...which I could imagine.

 

I'm not missing anything from my figure, the only QC issue I have is that when I tried clicking the arms together into vehicle mode it was a super tight snap and one of the ball joints for his leg/thigh is looser than the other, and one of the pistons on the crane being put on backwards. :/ Oh, I also have some minor paint splatters.
