Pulled from reddit.com/r/movies. It's currently the second highest post in that subreddit. Just look at how the black bars keep shifting.

Also the sounds that are heard when Optimus smacks Bumblebee are from the ending of the AOE official trailer, but it's actually very difficult to notice it. For a split second Optimus' shout when he hits Grimmlock can be heard.

They mentioned that 8 or so different camera types were used during filming.

Another thing I noticed. The ending tone of TLK trialer kinda sounds like Grimmlock roaring, just when the title appears.

This is going to make the IMAX 3D viewing more schizophrenic than when I saw Age of Extinction on the format.

Stop production now. This is atrocious.

I don't even think that shot of Bee running and getting chokeslammed was even with a real camera, that could have been entirely CGI for all we know.

Yea, that's because of the IMAX footage. I think it's awesome they expanded the image for the trailer.

Bit of a thread bump. I went to Guardians vol 2 last week at a regular theatre (not IMAX) and the below trailer was attached. Being the first time I saw a TF trailer in a theatre since DotM's Apollo 11 trailer, I kept looking at the frame edges to see if it was the same there. However, all of the trailer was at a 2.39:1 ratio and none of the bar shifting was to be seen. Then the International trailer drops and we still have the aspect shifting. Will the movie be at the usual 2.39:1 ratio everywhere besides IMAX and home releases (since RotF had IMAX ratio bumps for the forest battle)?

You will only see the ratio change at IMAX theaters because the screen is big enough to show the expanded shots. It will look normal everywhere else.

Forgive my ignorance, but if the movie was shot entirely in IMAX why would there be so much changing of aspect ratios. Shouldn't it all be the same?

The whole film wouldnt be shot in IMAX...It's way too expensive and the cameras are huge so only suit certain filming locations

Wasn't that what Michael Bay was saying, he was so proud that they were shooting entirely with IMAX?

Bay probably just misspoke, this movie filmed probably 60-70% of the movie with the Alexa IMAX camera but the other parts of the film were shot using Bay's custom handheld Red Helium camera and various other cameras that he had on set.

Transformers: The Last Knight is the first movie to film using two Alexa IMAX cameras side by side on the same rig to create live 3D images and shoot in native 3D.

Avengers: Infinity War is using the same Alexa IMAX camera but they're just using one for each rig and will be post converting the footage to 3D and they will be the first full length feature film to shoot 100% in IMAX.

I hope Bay tries to at least keep entire scenes in the same aspect ratio, because when he doesn't, due to his fast-cut style, the shifting aspects can make you feel ill. Try watching the Lockdown fight at the end of AOE to see what I mean.

It looks great in a normal aspect ratio (normal theater or on a normal TV), but when you watch it with the sliding ratios, it really starts to bother you. As soon as I noticed it, I couldn't help but to watch the edges, and it was shifting so fast that my head started to hurt.

I'm just hoping that if enough people say something about it, then maybe Bay will film entire scenes, or maybe even the entire movie, in one aspect ratio.
