yeah just there was so much dialogue in that trailer! (not really)
Don't know if its been brought up yet but with the new hd screen caps you can clearly distinguish details of the bot that cuts the car in half are present at Op's feet when he gets shot by lockdown.
The only things I liked was Crosshairs, and Grimlock.
Alright, where is the official trailer? Haha
I don't really agree. And to be fair here, it's quite a big ask to expect a director with a very set style to be seriously changing things up for the FOURTH film he's made in a series. Michael Bay makes MICHAEL BAY movies. He's not really a chameleon in the sense that other directors are. For example Steven Soderberg can turn his hand to petty much anything - compare Haywire with The Girlfriend Experience.
The cinematography is somewhat moodier. But the shots specifically chosen for the teaser are trying to convey a certain flavour. The car chop/Optimus 'death' and parachuting gunfight all look like they could have been lifted from any Transformers film (are we chopping a car in half AGAIN?).
I would say that it's nice to see some stuff happening in 'small town' America - something I personally thought should have been present in the films from the beginning.
Look, I don't like the films or Bay's directing decisions in general. I think he's an awful filmmaker. But plenty do.
British comic fans might find this amusing - from Judge Dredd, I give you GOLGOTHA :
Either first mode prime at 13 seconds in... or Nemesis Prime? (probably not)
steals matrix from prime to bring back megatron...
Dude...I think you nailed it.
I will bet now...That when he takes the matrix from Prime...From will default back to the old rusted truck we seen until he gets the matrix back to resurrect dinobots, and get his bod back.
That is one awesome looking trailer! Shame on those Grimlock haters lol
Very bland and boring teaser. Nothing looked that great. Not even the dinobots were that impressive. Human acting looks really bad in those shots too. Hopefully the full trailer will get me a bit more excited. This is only my opinion guys, I know many of you are excited about it.
I really do think this franchise needs a new set of eyes on it.
I am hoping this isn't it...but im wondering if the autobots have to go to different places to ancient locations when the dinobots have been kept for eons, and they "transform" or morph out from ancient structures..Like...The Dinobots ARE the old ancient structures..prime hits em with the matrix McGuffin and rides off to battle.
I am not sure dinobots will TF into bot mode yet...If Grimlock DOES transform..
Wars over...we got a transforming Godzilla.
2007 Transformers: A bus being rammed in half.
Revenge of the Fallen: A Decepticon is cut in half, and a car is sawed in half.
Dark of the Moon: No vehicle or Cybertronian is halved.
I think this is a first.
Contrary to whatever people think of the trailer in general...
man, the scenes selected to highlight the human talent in the film look dreadful!
Am I missing your point?
We can debate the details of such scenes forever, but on the face of it this is rather similar to the demise of our Decepticon pal in ROTF. of course what happens next may be very different.
Mr Bay is a director who actively enjoys repeating himself. See Bad Boys 2 for instance.
Prime cuts a 'con in DOTM. The Holy Cutinhalfinity
I believe he's seen in his new form also inside of Lockdown's ship (hanging upside down), and later in China, whilst riding Grimlock.
I was being facetious, and tried to be so using semantics. I intended for my argument to be light hearted. I'm sorry if it came across as an attack.
Yes but horizontally (I'll even give you diagonally, but not vertically) ;-D
Well Starscream in DOTM almost cuts the bus in half during his chase/ending with Sam.
Y'know what would make this movie complete, is that Lance Henriksen should reprise his roll as Lockdown, if it is LD though, would be awesome if it was like a team of mercenaries/bounty hunters and that "gun face" was six shot
Lockdown at 0:12 "head canon"... Get it!? ;-)
So anyway, had my doubts, seeing it's a Michael Bay film, but there was indeed explosions! Phew! ;-)
Don't mind the explosions, but I hope some of the budget went towards the dialogue and story, this time.
It won't be Lockdown without Lockdown's personality. And they better not kill him off within five minutes.
Just a thought, but probably not true. What if the Dinobots dragon features are their version of their "battle mode" or Stealth mode. Like Prime and Ironhide has mouth plates, BB has a mask, Jazz has a visor, and DOTM bots becomes weaponized cars. So Grimlock gets eyehorns, Swoop/Strafe splits his head. Maybe Slag gets more horns, Sludge stretch out to resemble a Chinese dragon.
