I have a weird question, but did the Spec Layzner come with batteries for it's stand?

Batteries not included. It requires two AAA batteries.

All the SOC in that list surpassed the votes threshold needed for a re release, so it's just a matter of when for those still unmarked. This can depend on various factors like the time and resource needed for upgrades (as an example the GX46R has various improvements) and market conditions.

I've been wondering the same thing. I need that Megazord reissue, but that list dropped what, a year ago? And not a whiff of half the figures on it. I guess they're playing the long game...

    ok.

My thoughts on GX-105 after messing around more with it...

    The good:
    • GX-105 figure is really what GX-70 figure should have been in the first place.
    • Quite the proper successor to the GX-45 figure.
    • Incorporates the nice pull-out thighs and ankle externder stuff from GX-45.
    • The rocket-punch firing gimmick since GX-01 is finally back again and nicely innovated.
    • Very nicely and properly articulated
    The not-so-good:
    • No Iron Cutters. WTF?! :banghead:
    • No Drill missile elbow-thingy.
    • No more usual SOC stand-storage and Scrander catapult.

    The odd:
    • This GX-105 likes to easily show his belly-button due to the torso-extend/missile-punch feature.

All in all, I like him alot better than GX-70, which is rather a low-hanging fruit easy since I was never that fond of GX-70 due to Bandai's gimmicks-removals and other nickel-n-diming shenanigans with it.

GX-105 figure is a worthy successor to the legendary GX-45.

As such, I'll be shocked, SHOCKED, I TELL YAH! when Bandai does their usual nickel-n-dime tactics again for us to get the Iron Cutters and SOC stand and stuff for additional 9000y. PBandai/TWE only, too.

Anyway, some of my GX-105 pics...

Oh jeez. What the hell even is a SoC without the awesome, proud stand? What a weird thing for them to get rid of.

Get the feeling we’ll get a anime accurate repaint of GX-105 with the stand but without something else. I was pretty surprised there wasn’t a stand included.

I got GX-105 and Getter Robo Go from Amazon Japan yesterday and have mixed feelings. I didn't grow up with the anime or toys, but 70s mecha/ super robots in general aren't really my style, though I do love Tetsujin 28 due to nostalgia (I watched Gigantor reruns in the early 90s on TV with my dad as he watched the show back in the 60s). Mazinger doesn't tug at the nostalgia heartstrings but he is very well made and the rocket punch gimmick is cool.

Getter Robo Go is more my speed, and I expected as much when I ordered it. In hand, it lives up to what I was expecting.

Back to Mazinger, will the GX-XX01 weapons set work with GX-105 or are those parts specific to the characters they are designed for?

Great post!!! Makes me feel better about my purchase. I’m sure it’s somewhere in the Japanese writing since he’s based on the beginning of the series, he didn’t have all the fancy weapons yet. I’m expecting any day now a Tamashii Web Exclu$ive upgrade set that will hopefully have a stand for him and maybe a few other hands along with the Iron Cutters and such. I’m also hoping they start Kakumei Shinka-ing the other Dynamic Robots to match and hit the Getter Robo G team this time.

I’m waiting to see if they work as well. So far doesn’t look like any reviewers have the set or tried it with him.

I opened GX-81 yesterday and GX-23 today. And oh man... those vehicle modes look awesome together with the poseable stand. Makes me wish they would release an R version to have them all displayed together with the F.A. version in a detolf. I'll be opening GX-83 tomorrow. I've been opening one SoC every day since mid november. Good times :-D [IMG]

GX-81 is my favorite SOC. He was the first one I got. I wanted to try an SOC, and I picked him primarily based on his price, size and ability to transform. It turns out that he is a ton of fun as well…and definitely one of the most highly articulated outside of the F.A. releases.

I want you to take this very seriously: If you like your GX-81, you owe it to yourself to get GX-23 and GX-84. They simply deserve to live together on the shelf of a loving owner.

I have to say that so far, I'm kind of surprised by the releases that have really moved me. Mazinger Angels, Tryder G7, the zambot guys and the ninja senshi tobikage and daitetsujin guys are really great. Not all that impressed with GX-31, GX-88 and the Xabungle guys. And I'm kind of anxious to open more Getter Guys as I'm not really digging the GX-06 and GX-99 that I've already opened. I'm still headlessly in love with the line though and I can absolutely see a future where I may be selling my track day car to fill it out to completion. Well maybe not the lucky draw items but anyway... That's what I did with transformers back in the day. In 2007, I had every transformer released in Japan besides some variants such as the blue window Optimus as well as the pencil top transformers which I did not consider true transformers. I did have the Beast Wars keychains though so maybe it was just my personal definition ;) . I know I'm rambling but what I'm saying is I haven't been this excited about toys since I completed the Japanese G1 toys with the Zone stuff and all that. And that's like 18 years ago. What I am really trying to say that I am happy to be back in the community after all these years (as you can see from my profile), so cheers to all you guys :)

Oh and I actually couldn't wait until tomorrow. Of course I had to open the FA version to see how they would look in a Detolf. Of course they look absolutely fantastic as expected. Yes I know the photo isn't great. I'm busy playing with my toys right now don't have time for no fancy photos.

And oh yeah - absoletely re: the price of GX-81. I got him in sealed box now at well below retail. Weird, because it is in fact an awesome figure. Same goes for all the FA guys besides Voltes V.

I ended up getting 23 not long after getting 81…lol. Putting little Zambo next to big Zambo is hilarious. I did not get the F.A., though.
