Songs can be awesome for any reason: great vocals, lyrics, instrumentals, sound, music video, band, singer, mood, feelings you get from it, sentimental value, goes well when playing a video game, was in a favorite movie, or sounds just plain badass, (etc.). Songs can be of any genre, any time, anything. Just as long as they don't outright offend anyone or their video's don't break any board rules (nudity, excessive gore, politics/political attacks, etc.). That might be hard to abide by with some bands but try your best. Post the name of the song and the group/singer, and if you want, post lyrics and/or accompanying links to the song (video with audio recommended). Sorry, no MP3s or illegal downloads allowed. Post, discuss, and enjoy sharing with us songs you like for any reason. I'm sure we could all benefit from this and find new music to enjoy from what others have to share. Have fun!
Hurt by Johnny Cash it was his cover of the Nine inch nails song , but as he did with anything he touched he made it his own and and in many ways it was his epitaph as he died less than a year after it came out YouTube - Johnny Cash - 'Hurt" I find it Awesome for it was the Man in Black's last hit, and there will never be another Man in Black
anything by Joan of Arc. Well actually anything Tim or Mike Kinsella has had a part of. Oh, and also Built Then Burnt (Hurrah! Hurrah!) by A Silver Mt. Zion "Dear Brothers and Sisters! Dear Enemies and Friends! Why are we all so alone here? All we need is a little more hope, a little more joy All we need is a little more light, a little less weight, a little more freedom If we were an army, and if we believed that we were an army And we believed That everyone was scared Like little lost children in their grown up clothes and poses So we ended up alone here Floating through long wasted days Or great tribulations While everything felt wrong Good words Strong words Words that could've moved mountains Words that no one ever said We were all waiting to hear those words And no one ever said them And the tactics never hatched. And the plans were never mapped. And we all learned not to believe. And strange lonesome monsters loafed through the hills wondering why And it is best to never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever wonder why So tangle; Oh tangle us up in bright red ribbons! Let's have a parade It's been so long since we had a parade So let's have a parade Let's invite all our friends And all our friends' friends Let's promenade down the boulevards With terrific pride And light in our eyes Twelve feet tall and staggering! Sick with joy With the angels there And light in our eyes Brothers and Sisters Hope still waits in the wings Like a bitter spinster Impatient Lonely And shivering Waiting to build her glorious fires. I's because of our plans man; Our beautiful ridiculous plans! Let's launch them like careening jetplanes! Let's crash all our planes in the river! Let's build strange and radiant machines At this Jericho waiting to fall "
^THIS. Also "The Model" by Kraftwerk. And "Mourn" by Apoptygma Berzerk. "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley.
Tranquilize- The Killers/Lou Reed. I've been really obsessed with this song recently. Especially, though I'm not sure why, the line: "Acid rain, Abel looked up at Cain, it began"
Yeah definitely I love the Killers music except I hate them theyre so arrogant like all Americans are.
I love that "gives you hell" song - it's very catchy and funny. I don't know who sings it, but it's on the radio right now.
Rather than go through the myriad of awesome songs I like, I'll just stick to what I think is awesome right now. For anyone who was a fan of Michael Jackson before he became "Wacko" Jackson then you might enjoy this new song by an artist called The Dream feat. Kanye West. Say what you will about Kanye West, I definitely can't stand the guy, be he is absolutely the Kobe Bryant of pop music right now in that you don't really like him as a person but damn he's good at what he does. This time he pays great homage to the King of Pop with his production of this song: YouTube - Walking on the moon - The Dream Ft. Kanye West (HQ Music Video) edit: Video sucks very badly...one of the worst ever IMO, but the song is the only thing I recommend.
I'll pick the top three that are my favorite, in no specific order: YouTube - 175R - MELODY YouTube - RESCUE FIRE ! ! ! by JAMProject YouTube - Gackt - Journey through the Decade PV + Lyrics
The video for this song is awesome. Pretty funny YouTube - Lamb Of God- Redneck (Official Music Video) (Good Quality)
