For some reason the lyrics to this song strike strong parallels to the '86 movie for me. YouTube - Batman - The End is the Beginning is the End
Ever heard the Watchmen version? You have now. I can sort of see it going with the '86 movie. It's makes for sense than The Touch and Dare, fo sho.
More likely the 86 movie deals with very common themes in storytelling (a great, prophecized threat and the chosen one who rises to stop it, the "changing of the guard", the nature and rise of a hero, etc.), you could probably listen to a lot of songs and ascribe similarities to the 86 movie. There's some interesting parallels in the lyrics of this song, though I imagine they're meant to be interpreted metaphorically, not literally (as in terms of unicron). Now, if you want to talk about songs that DIRECTLY reference transformers, we could have a whole new thread going on.
I honestly think that it is purely coincidental because those lines you mentioned are the only things that could be connected to the '86 movie. Reading the lines, it would be tough to interpret them as being about mechanical beings. Still, it wouldn't feel totally out of place if it was in the '86 movie.
They also talk about the sewers belching the singer out, how does that fit with the movie? Or the zepplins raining upon them? Or defying the future cast? How does the talk about lighting their darkest hour mesh with the rest of the lyrics, which paint the singer as both unicron and the light in the hour? Its pretty easy to draw connections when you cherry pick the lines. Don't get me wrong here, there's some interesting coincidences, but I think that's all they are.
