I would need to check mine, but I thought the extra hair pieces also came with the Konami Ltd. recolors....

I should clarify that I was referring specifically to the MD release and not the OG one from over a decade ago.

Hey, I’ve been thinking of getting into the line by picking up a figure as a seller made what looks to be a really great offer on a Fort Bragg. Is there anything I should know about the line beforehand before pulling the trigger?

in fort bragg's case just make ABSOLUTELY SURE she has a body, because the standard fort bragg set doesnt have one (just the head, armor and weapons), only limited editions of the figure came with the body.

EDIT: if anyone is interested i'm finally building koto-arnval and taking some pictures while doing so, so expect something around the end of this week (hopefully)

that's actually the LIMITED EDITION Fort Bragg Dusk, so yeah if the seller is trustworthy i say go for it!

and what i was trying to say earlier was that the first print of fort bragg was called a EX set (only head and weapons), meant to customize another shinki (if i remember right) the one in the picture is a limited edition complete set.

    PICTURE TIME! she's done! (mostly)...

There are a lot of parts there....

    Thanks Optimus!

    head and torso...

just in case i sanded the neck balljoint a bit... less risk of breaking it like what happened with 30MS Luluce
    [IMG]

i did notice that the joints for the legs are thicker compared to the other megamis i own...

for the lack of legs.... a prime!

ok She is cute! better face than the original... still...

    Armor parts are done!

looks like the guys at Koto though about the possibility of an extra BFG, because there are 2 connectors instead of one, i wonder if these pieces are compatible with the og figure.

    CSC chests
    [IMG]

    Happy face!

hey why are you mad at m- oh...

now here's the thing: these are the pieces for retrocompatibility, and to be honest i dont like how it was implemented. because basically you build the kit with the normal parts OR these parts, if i want to switch, i have ro rebuild the legs and leg armor... its good to have an option but imho not this way, that's asking for trouble.

Armor on (with complete arms just for the armor)

the stand is crappy but it does the job...

BFG goodness (except that antenna that doesnt like to stay in place)

overall a good kit, i still dont know how "playable" is compared to the og figure but at least looks good for what it is.

i still have to take comparison pictures but that's for another time... wish me luck!

but for now this is it! i hope you guys like it.

Back in this site's heyday, Busou Shinki was one of many things introduced to me via the Funnies (including third party figs, Fate series). Eventually, I decided when i was able to, I would buy Shinkis of my own... and I did!

It took me awhile to get around to open Strarf (the original version, too!), but now I have! And I was totally...
    IMG_1692[1].JPG
    Underwhelmed.

Out of the box, Strarf was sticky- in the Megabloks kind of way, you perve. Not a pleasant sensation handling her at first. And so fiddly; pieces kept popping off and posing was difficult, especially in her armored mode.

    IMG_1694[1].JPG

I slightly damaged one of her shooting hands.

I lost the ring for her right bicep

I swear some pegs are a little smushed

And the mount for her monster arms is stuck to her back IMG_1696[1].JPG

Sigh. I'm pretty disappointed, but i guess it's my own fault. She's an old figure, so I can't be too mad, and I should have been more careful.

Oh well. I'll post some more when I get around to opening the others. IMG_1697[1].JPG

she may be an old figure but as long as you take proper care of her (an the others) they will pay you back in spades!

that's why most of us who managed to get the figures back in the day still have them.

they are still so much fun!

    Update:

    IMG_1699[1].JPG

Yup, still stuck. On the plus side, I found that missing ring for her arm!

    IMG_E1702[1].JPG

I'm really starting to warm up to her. She's still got quite the personality!

    IMG_1706[1].JPG

I keep her in this pose while I do other stuff on my computer. Honestly, all I can say is 'cute!'

    IMG_1707[1].JPG IMG_E1708[1].JPG

Tried to remember a cool Strarf moment from the funnies, but that ws the only thing I can find on short notice.

"Sir, this is an M32 Grenade Launcher-"

    UPDATE: I GOT IT OFF!

    IMG_1716[1].JPG

Had to work a screwdriver to pry it off though. Ya'll think I should sand it down? if so, what grit-level?

i dunno about sanding but i shaved the pegs a bit on mine with scissors... just a little bit is enough, otherwise you'll end up with loose connectors and for some "full armor" shinkis like strarf that's a bad idea.

UPDATE: Shaving the peg with scissors worked; it's MUCH easier to take the arms on and off

    IMG_1720[1].JPG

I'm thinking my Strarf leans more towards Polenicus' sassy tsundere than Chaos Incarnate's 'Rick Sanchez with a side order of Sarah Kerrigan'

    IMG_1721[1].JPG

I really do like her revolver.

    IMG_1722[1].JPG

It was kind of hard to get her into this pose.

    IMG_1723[1].JPG

And here was where I realized that she would probably have a better time standing on a flat surface rather than an old mousepad.

    Mildly inspired by this:

    upload_2023-8-24_17-57-31.png

As you can see, I utterly failed in recreating it.

    IMG_1724[1].JPG

"Why don't you relax and have a nice cup of tsundere?"
