Probably my favorite deco on these lads. That being said, the robot modes seemed a little too plain for my tastes. Decided to throw on a few G1 Combaticon stickers on a whim and…

I'm sure this is sacrilege to someone out there, but I kinda dig it?

It looks good, but I don’t think I could bring myself to cover up the gorgeous deco on those guys. Though I think I did use it as my Bruticus stand-in for a while (since I already had Japanese and domestic releases of Ruination.)

Finally, after years, I may have secured myself a complete JRX in box. After that I just need Landfill and Ruination and my RID collection will be complete. (still unsure if I want the OG Baldigus or the UW version, but the latter is fucking expensive and impossible to find at time)

Was lucky to get the bullet trains when the show was airing. Crazy to see how pricey they are nowadays.

I got them summer of 2000 from Japan in a box set. I would love if they made a new version for legacy.

Ha! It was the Japanese box set that I just got, too. :D  It isn't sealed though, which is fine by me because then I have no qualms busting it open. It'll stand right next to Omega Prime. (eventually)

Unfortunately shipping kind hurt my nuts, mostly due to the box volume. Not as bad as when everything was only going DHL but man I feel like five years ago I'd have paid half that.

There's a jumping the shark pun in there somewhere. I got Gnawthing...

I hadn't bought an RID figure in years. Last year though I had to buy Legacy Scourge and I finally picked up an X-Brawn.

    20221031_145008.jpg 20221031_145904.jpg 20221106_214105.jpg

I wish the guys who made the oversized Korean Combaticons had repainted them as the RID Decepticons. I love how this Onslaught scales with Scourge.

    FB_IMG_1665854284194.jpg

I think Cordon reminds X-Brawn of someone...

Always loved this picture. I got into collecting back in 2002 when RID were still on the shelves so I was lucky enough to get a lot of them for decent prices.
The first Universe series kicked off around then and I quite liked the RID repaints like Ratchet, Red Alert and the Constructicons. Was a few years before I picked up Roulette and Shadow Striker.

Given that we got Legacy Scourge, I wouldn't mind some more RID updates. Some recent molds would work quite well for certain RID characters:

Note: I found some excellent digibashes and custom photos of RID characters and felt they were worth sharing. Just to be clear, I didn't make these. I don't know who the artists are but they rightfully deserve any praise.

    Earthrise Sideswipe as Spychanger REV.

    Legacy Road Rocket as Sideways.
    Selects G2 Megatron as Bludgeon.
SS86 Hot Rod as Sideburn. Not identical to RID SB but the Collector's Club did repaint him from the Classics Rodimus mold.
Spychanger Ironhide from Combiner Wars Ironhide or Earthrise Trailbreaker.

    FMNAhCCXEAITUoD.jpg

New armour to turn Siege Ultra Magnus into his RID counterpart.
    Selects Exhaust as Daytonus.
    Earthrise Hoist as Towline.

    Crosswise from Siege Sideswipe.

Thanks for sharing those. RID 2001 really deserves more love than what it's gotten. The TV show wasn't the all-time best, but honestly after doing a watch-through it was definitely in the 'pretty darned good' category for me.

Thanks for these. :)  Rail Racer's an underrated combiner IMHO.

I took mine out of storage where it's been for 8 years. Man the articulation sucks compared to modern transformers. But standing stagnant, he looks great.

Agreed. The first pose I have him in up there took multiple attempts and poses before I could get him to stand still in a dynamic pose. Took me over 20 minutes to do that.
