Happy Christmas to All
I recently got a copy of Brave Maximus from a fellow board member and am generally so pleased to have him back in my collection.
I am curious about a small problem I'm having with the green window/left chest cavity. The window hinge is a bit droopy and tends to hang open if the figure gets bumped. It's certainly no deal breaker! Worst case scenario, I can get some sticky tack and hold it shut with just a little blob. However, I wondered if this is a common problem, and whether any of y'all have found a more elegant fix?
I didn't know this was a thread. I wish I had some RID 2001 stuff.
Yeah, not all the time but mine does this as well occasionally. Not to the point where I have felt the need to find an engineering solution but when it does, it’s a bit annoying.
My Brave Max body is currently “possessed” by megatron megabolt, with teeny-tiny scourge, giving the orders, like that time in the cartoon!
Here are some Spy Changer and Predacon shots that I took earlier in the week...
Yeah! I'm badly tempted to slowly add a few more back into my collection. Before parting with them all back in 2007, I had nearly the whole cast (minus JRX/Railracer & Scourge), plus a few of the Hasbro additions.
Most of all I love the new molds that were created for this line at the time. The color choices (especially on the Takara releases) make all the older figures really appealing too!
Thanks for this reply! It mostly brings me peace of mind just to know its par for the course. I cross-posted my info dredge to the G1-appreciation thread and got a nice reply there advocating the use of Pledge/Future. I've been meaning for years to pick up a bottle and give that TF collectors 'fix-all' a try. Maybe this'll push me to finally do so.
Haha! Yes!! I remember getting Megabolt Megatron (maybe only my second eBay purchase?) to great excitement for the dual purpose of 'completing' my Beast Machines collection and being able to control my Brave Maximus. I hated having to pull off his weird legs to do so though! It made me feel too much like a cruel kid dewinging a fly or delegging a daddy-longlegs.
I love the round up shot especially.
Thanks, just got a new unit so finally got space to display the cast characters so enjoying the toys all over again.
Ruination is elsewhere, doubling as my g1 bruticus!
And “power-up” autobot brothers are all aboard my 2nd magnus!
BTW, nice MP collection you’ve got there too!
Indyheat and Wrecker Hood
Yeah. There are a lot of great color schemes and designs.
I have the box set of the clear Autobot Bros that I’m inclined to sell. Only opened when I first got it to inspect them. Not sure how to find out actual worth. Any suggestions?
Check sold/completed sales on eBay for a good judge of price.
for some reason those packages give me G1 Bakugan vibes
Can anyone speak to how well Optimus/Fire Convoy holds up in 2020? Thinking about picking one up.
I have the original Fire Convoy 2nd edition from 2000. It was in opened/ great condition. Never had batteries and barely transformed; purchased in 2018. It's all more than good.
It’s a great toy. Chromed and with rubber tires it feels very premium quality. The design is partsformery and it you are cool with that, it holds up great.
Does anybody have both RiD Optimus Prime and Car Robots Super Fire Convoy?
I've been looking for good pictures to compare the plastics. I've heard that the Japanese release uses sparkly red vs. the Western release's flat red plastic.
