That about sums up my thoughts on it too, sans the LED issues. I kinda Jerry-rigged it up on the stand after trying to figure out how it's supposed to work despite the instructions only showing the stand working on the valk without the fast packs on. smh... In that post, it looks cool if you're looking up at it. But as you can see, it's on my desk...so I'm looking more down on it. *edit* I forgot to mention I actually turned the stand around and moved the joint of the arm a little bit back so that on the stand, he's more "upright" now.
I ended up canceling my preorder for God of Flame losing my deposit. The reviews for the previous release had me worried on the overall quality. The high price for what they were delivering just didn’t seem worth it in the end. It does look nice.
Was this through BBTS? I'm curious since I saw it has a non-refundable deposit, but assumed that it would become credit if the customer cancelled it.
Possibly but selling stuff is a hassle. Lesson learned, I will not be so quick to preorder in the future on nrd orders.
Aw, that sucks. Sorry that happened to you, but thank you for the information. I concur with you on trying to sell stuff. My wife made it a full time job selling all the crap I collected over the years.
Honestly, you never know what might happen with this figure on the aftermarket in the future. Unless Bandai/Harmony Gold/whoever make some kind of deal and produce a DX Chogokin version, your KC might remain the only Jetfire-esque VF-1S for a long time. I’d hate to see you take a $100 hit to the wallet like that.
KC was why I stayed away even though the deco popped so hard. Maybe if the 3A Robodou version is good we’ll see them attempt a Jetfire deco since I can’t see Bandai doing it any time soon. For now my DYRL VF-1S Hikaru will have to suffice for scratching that deco itch
I am not a fan of those non-refundable deposits. Because if you change your mind...you just gave them money for nothing. And you gotta be sure you can and will get the item before you order too...but if something in your life changes and you have to dip out, then you lose. Nah I'm good on that.
Have you tried contacting BBTS to explain the issues with the figure and that it wasn't something you would know until other people had it in hand? If that doesn't work perhaps go to your card company, I'm not sure but some states have laws against NRD. You might get your money back but you'll probably never be able to do business with BBTS ever again.
While I do see where you're coming from,I welcome Deposit Preorders bc it's weeds out the ppl who PO from several retailers then drop them once: - another retailer has it in stock/is cheaper elsewhere - never intended to buy but just take up a spot from someone who really wanted it - realize it way out their budget and so on. I've seen these acts play out ALOT in the FT threads and is really annoying. It does suck if u did PO and an emergency popped up and can't get your money back but that's life. I was ass out a $50 PO for my Dx 1j bundle as I got cold feet about how I was going to received it from Luna 2 years ago. Live and learn on my end.
Exactly. I bought three DX in 2022 including that figure and they are fantastic. Honestly I’m not interested in a lesser quality figure even if it resembles G1 Jetfire. My hope was to put it with my newage ex legends figures but price for quality and size I decided to back out.
NRDs are explained by the retailer though in most cases. You have to accept that policy when you put in the PO... It's basically black and white. I've pulled out some PO's with NRDs and understand it's function and concept. The issue is the retailer may get stuck with product with no means of returning for credit and they eat the costs of product in the end. To soften that blow and still operate, they may request NRD on the PO.
Should it be taking BBTS this long to get theirs in? I preordered God of Flame on September 2nd from them, I just want to make sure I don't get left without getting one of these because something happened and they didn't get their stock.
