I mean, MP figures can be based on the comics. Y'know, the comics where these specific characters did things, and are probably remembered more from than their two appearance as Generic Decepticon Goon 1 & 2

We did get an MP Grimlock with his crown, after all, in deliciously Marvel-esque colours

That Primal could look awesome in toy form!! It's like a mix of Perfect Effect and MT's Cross Dimension!

 

I'm still in the market for a good MP scaled Ironhide who isn't too large (the MP) or has a beer gut instead of a powerful chest (again the MP). So definitely keeping an eye on this.

Battlechargers...yeah, not really interested, but great that they're making them.

However, I echo the sentiment that Runa...uh, the white one, really should have orange in robotmode. I know that wasn't how it was in the cartoon, but it is accurate to the G1 toy and it looks so much better. It just makes him pop.

 

One figure was based on comics with a bone thrown in as an accessory with the repaints. The fact there hasn't been more must suggest the money isn't there otherwise that's all we'd see. They (read noone, not Takara or third parties) aren't even doing Ratchet as a repaint and he's iconic looking comicwise so that speaks volumes.

I get it, it's not your cuppa tea but the fact we're getting inundated with cartoon renditions of characters means there IS money in it. You don't like, you don't buy. Simple. Plenty of others are though so they'll keep coming, that and it's hardly like these will be the only offerings.

 

The Battlechargers had a whole issue of the Marvel comic. They better come with spray paint cans.



There is a good chance we will see both decos, perhaps one as a convention exclusive?

Will these be scaled to go with MP10 or Faith Leader?

 

runabout and runamuck need their the hoods in robot mode apart from that not looking too bad from the renders , please let there be 3rd party battle charger wars all about the options

 

The only scale that matters to me is that they scale correctly with the MP carbots.

 

Nice to finally see someone tackling the Battlechargers.

Your pic illustrates my feeling that a good Battlecharger design could work for Throttlebot reshells too. But one absolute must for both subgroups is the double-wheel roller skates. I don't mind if it's MP Magnus-style fake wheels, just get those wheels on! Also, yep, bigger hoodies.

Missing the colour orange, the hood and the skates? Really wish they did at least one of them, suppose one of those can be fixed with a repaint though. Primal sure is intriguing though. Only 3P figure I own is a targetmaster for Kup*, but glad to see igear back all the same.

*Simply because the money always ends up going on something else, lots of lovely stuff I'd have otherwise.

EDIT: If they retool a Ratchet (and they will), then repaint it in Marvel colours then that Ironhide becomes a lot more tempting.

Nice! I've been waiting for a better Ironhide / Ratchet and this looks like it has potential. I liked Voodoos, but I guess they just gave up or something?

I love the look of the Runn-about/muck and will be watching them closely!

I'm not into the Optimus Primal / Beast war stuff, so its an easy pass for me, but I have to admit, the design looks great!

Ironhide looks like it borrows very heavily from TT's (which isn't a bad thing) plus a few of their own interesting tweaks to the torso. I wonder, then, why it has awful plank feet if it presumably didn't have to??  

The car-cons (hmm did I just coin a phrase?  ) look really cool! Me and my bro had both those guys as kids and loved them. I'd like a bit more hood but maybe you can just flip it up a bit more if you want that as it does still look like the back of the car just folded down there. Would love some faux little roller skate wheels, too, a bit like MP UM's.

And, er... what's that Otimus Primal thing, then? Doesn't look like it makes a monkey? Some other version?

 

Run brothers both look great. I think Ive reached full saturation with Ironhide at this point though so not really interested in him.
