Ah, yeah modifying the model would suck and I completely understand. That sounds very painful to do just for a Charlene. I could see it being worth it for a larger figure.

Circuit Breaker has a lot of little detail that probably would be easier to paint than to print. Dunno, your early designs looked really promising.

I just realized you also did the damage to Skids windshield. Even has cracks in it. Unless that was real from a drop.

Edit: Saw your response in the 3P Masterpiece Photos thread.

It is often said that art imitates life... and now, Transformers imitate art.

    Davinci's 'Vitruvian Man'

Francisco Goya's 'Saturn Devouring His Son'

    Auguste Rodin's 'The Thinker'

I was going to use the original Frazetta image, but wasn't sure if it was too 'graphic' for the TFW2005 community. Let me know, and I'll hook something up.

And now a couple older Banksy compositions.

And finally this one below is an 'outtake' of Saturn Devouring His Son, using an old G1 Scrapper as the 'son' figure.

Hahahaha, I like the Saturn devouring G1 Scrapper. Makes more sense than him eating Bumblebee. But both are awesome and creepy like the original piece.

Thanks @betsuni !! That's why I thru it in there. If I had a yellow G1 Scrapper, I would've just gone with that. Green on Green is kinda hard to see.

I forgot one... this is my Transformer imitation of any Pablo Picasso work from his Cubist Period. ;)

It's not so much painful in the effort involved. I could probably create the alternate elbow in less than 30 minutes. It's painful in the sense of abandoning the bicep articulation. She'd lose a huge chunk of her expressiveness. I'm still kind of tempted to upsize her a little - the only reason I don't is I don't want to have to replace all my other MP human figures. They're smaller than really makes sense to match with any figure other than Optimus in alt mode.

Ha! I love the energon "balloon!"

Ah gotcha, yeah that would suck to not have that articulation. I still say your one right now is really good and just stick with her.

^^ Looks like you needed to build a lot of the surroundings for this one and the previous where the autobots fall into the sea---you had to build what, the oil barge, steel I-beams and oil drums...serious amount of detail there, OT awesome work as always!

Thanks, yeah the oil rig was a big deal (most work I've put into a prop so far). Even though it's just a very loose jumble of cardboard and recycled packaging it took some time to plan and build. I thought it was worth it as this will be a climactic 'money shot' near the end of my completed MTMTE Episode One. The other bits (beams, drums) are recycled parts from the main model.

Fantastic work, OT! Your artistry and commitment are a credit to the TF fandom.

I hope when the new Starscream and FT-Thomas are released, you might see your way to building a certain someone's coronation podium? :D :p

I second this... even with MP-11 or a reasonable facsimile!!

I can't wait for the release of FT-Thomas so that my current DX9 stand-in can be reduced to spare parts!

Sigh... but then I'll have to dismantle Constructor.

Clearly, he's not thrilled about the prospect.

It would've been the 'bad comedy' retort to Prime23 from this end too, up until Snaku beat me to it ... and I took a hint! :D

Necrobot, where did you get those trumpets?? :D   Great stuff. No, Devvy certainly wouldn't be thrilled to be broken up to play as "dickwad's" coronation ... again.

I know what you mean about Astrotrain. If I had Timelord's skillset I'd probably wait for the no doubt more expressive looks of MP52 and Thomas before doing the animation rather then use the older ones, but maybe prep the ampitheatre in the meantime.

It wasn't until I saw that oil rig diorama in here that I realised OT has a talent for small scale set design as well as splicing masterpiece stop motion into animation frames, etc.

Think the coronation scene has been done a couple of times on YouTube - (older pieces and cut out trumpets from what I've seen) - but certainly not with OT's level of detail. That is, if he hasn't already done a version himself I've not seen - which he may have. No idea!

Yeah I decided it would be a good goal to aim for, so my focus will be on that for a while!
Thanks! If I ever do that scene I probably won't build anything, as my rule is to use the painted backgrounds wherever they exist, and make props etc for cel drawn art (such as the oil rig).
Indeed I haven't! Part of the reason I've avoided the movie is knowing it's been done by others already. Maybe a TT MP Galvatron could change my mind...!

I've built a few sets in the past (small and large scale) but the oil rig is the first TF one I've done. Will there be more? Hmmm if the scene commands it I guess...

Thanks for the behind the scenes photo...it's so nice to see a still image because we only get a couple frames in your recent videos. It looks really good, yet integrates really well into the OG Sunbow backgrounds. Inspriing!
