I've noticed that the origin story of the "Unicron brothers" shares a striking similarity with Gnostic cosmology.

Higher being creates "fashioner" being which revolts and represents chaos, creating the universe as we know it in the process of fighting with it's twin, ending imprisonment of the divine in material form.

In addition, the One's method of creation shared by Primus is similar to emanation. Thus, The One represents Abraxas with Primus as Sophia.

Unicron supposedly is connected with the Pit , like Samael resides in Chaos and tortures the wicked. In addition, Unicron shares other traits with the Demiurge.

    Thoughts?

TF lore borrows from a lot of Mythologys when you look at it.

Yeah, there are a lot of religions in there. How about the death, burial, and resurrection of Optimus Prime? That's why he's so loved today!

Even earlier, there was the Persian zoroastrianism, which presents a force of good/light, with an opposite of evil/darkness.

But yeah..like Shortwave said, Transformers borrows heavily from Earth religions. The Fallen is pretty much based on Lucifer. Optimus, originally intended or not, has some parralels to Christ.

Aaaaand that's pretty much how far we can take this, as talk about religion always ends up in massive flamewars, hence why they're forbidden. :)

I've always thought The Fallen was the Judas. I think Lucifer is more fitting but still.

The autobots against Unicron can be in some ways similar to david and goliath imo.

Not really. Greek Chaos was the void that existed before the universe, and it was from Chaos that the Protogenoi ( Gaia,Uranus, etc) were born.

Also, this thread will probably be closed.

I've stated this on another thread before so I'm repeating myself here but Egyptian/Transformers.In TF:TM there is a similarity between Osiris,Seth and Horus and Optimus Prime,Megatron/Galvatron and Hotrod/Rodimus Prime.I know its just a coincidence but Optimus Prime was originally known as Orion Pax and Osiris is associated with Orion.

In the end, all this stuff can just be boiled down to Jungian archetypes.
