80s/90s Art Adams was absolutely untouchable.

He's still better than just about anyone that ever picked up a pencil, but there's a "spark" missing in his stuff over the last decade or two. It's like he just goes through the motions now and drawing is just muscle memory for him. I can't explain it; it's still really really good, but it's just missing something.

As for Groo, I only ever bought one issue. I got it signed by Sergio Aragones over 20 years ago.

If it was about Mary Jane, Logan probably respected Peter for that. I remember they made a running gag out of Wolverine being openly attracted to MJ due to playing off his history with redheads during Spidey's stint with the Avengers.

 

Heh, no, it wasn't about MJ, it happened very early in the Superior Spider-Man period and Otto just didn't take well to Wolverine trying to muscle him around.

You're right, I got the impression that Wolverine respected Spider-Man after getting punched by him.
I went looking for a specific panel to illustrate this, but I didn't find any particular one in the issues I checked.

Wolverine did defend Spider-Man, however, when the Avengers first expressed concerns over his more violent actions.
I read that as something Wolverine probably wouldn't have done if he didn't have some newfound respect for Spider-Man.
