is Josh Holloway who plays Sawyer in the show Lost. If anyone watches that show, is it just me or is his personality like Gambit to a T?
The only perfect Gambit is a dead Gambit. I've hated the character since his introduction. However, you are right. Which is mildly annoying for me, because Sawyer is an awesome character.
In all honesty, I'm starting to warm up to Gambit now. But that's only because of the revelations in "The End". Sinister is the best villain EVER.
Quoted for truth. Also, I must back up Gambit's defense by saying the only good gambit is a not-dating-Rogue Gambit. He's always so much cooler when he's not dating her, in the 616, even in alternate realities.
SPOILAZ: Ok, so basically in the last issue of The End it was given away that Mr. Sinister is in fact Gambit's real "father". Sinister needs to switch bodies to keep himself alive, and he kept trying to create more powerful bodies so he could eventually overthrow Apocalypse. Gambit was one of these host bodies that he made from some of the most powerful mutant DNA he had at the time. But Apocalypse learned of his betrayal and had baby Gambit whisked away to New Orleans where he was raised by the LaBeau's. Gambit's essentially an amalgamation of the most powerful mutants on the planet(granted, that were around at the time of his "birth") but this includes Cyclops, thus making Gambit the third Summers' brother.
I just read the Gambit: House of Cards TPB (Gambit 1-6), and actually enjoyed it. Gambit without Rogue is good- I liked his intro issues with Storm, and when it was inferred that he had a secondary ability of charming people with his voice. Though, maybe I like it better that it's just him being a smooth talker. No character is inherently bad- it's the writer that makes the difference. -Tony! Well, maybe Maggot wasn't such a great idea...
Man, I wish I had read the End. That sounds really cool. I know, it's strange, but that's what comic books should be. Did it list any of the other sources Sinister drew from?
