I don’t know if it’s been brought up before here, but it’s something I’ve come to notice.

The Bay movies and Pirates share quite a few parallels in how they ran their respective courses.

The first movies were the most well received, the next two sequels weren’t as well received but were massive successes, the fourth movie being an unnecessary continuation to a good ending that was missing lead character(s) but still successful, and finally the fifth one that was but a shell(as well as contradictions to lore) at this point that underperformed at the box office while setting up a last movie in a post credit scene that will never get made.

See the resemblance between the two???

I thought Pirates 2 and 3 were the most liked? They tell a pretty good story and are genuinely really funny and enjoyable. Maybe that's just me.

I always thought that Megatron and Davy Jones had similar stories.

Well critically they weren’t as well received, just like ROTF and DOTM when compared to the first movie. Only Pirates was better received then Transformers overall, but still you can see parallels clear as day.

    Yeah dude, way off topic.

I've never seen any of the Pirates of the Caribbean but if you what you're saying is true in general then I can definitely see the similarities between the two franchises.

I'd compare this more to the X-Men films.

Just like ROTF was weak, Dead Man's Chest was weak. It suffered by not having Barbosa and the rivalry between Barbosa and Sparrow.

Most definitely. Plus both of the fifth movies bring back characters who were in the first three but were absent in the fourth.
