A bit chilly. My mom and sister have been wrong about the weather for the last week.

    Ice and snow my ass.

It's blowing really hard outside. Went out to get some food and by the time I made it back, it started to flurry a bit.

My portable heater is not doing too well on keeping me warm. It's not broken or breaking down, it's just that damn cold.

And a full blown winter storm is here. And my mom decided to foolishly go to work and now can't make it back home because of a foot of snow and there is ice on the roads.

Hopefully she'll make it back safely.

On the up side, my classes were cancelled. Yay

At least eight inches of snow in the driveway, so I couldn't get to work today. Had to call my workplace at least seven times before my boss was able to answer it. He says he's not surprised; the roads are really bad over there. I practically live just a few minutes south of the county my workplace is at, and they're under a level 3 snow warning. Here's hoping the roads improve tomorrow.

    Woo hoo!
Fellow Texans, the grid did not fail and we survived the worse part.

For non-Texans, my home state was never ready for this type of climate south of DFW; generally, growing up, I saw snow maybe a few years total but never consecutively. It wasn’t an annual thing, even when we lived in Dallas.

Now, this is maybe the 4th year in a row with snow/sleet covering the Austin area. Last year was a flat out snow storm, this year, just sleet.

Anyhow, I say all this because this is the second consecutive year in a row that my exterior tankless water heater has been damaged lol. In Texas, you can put these types of things outside because regulations allow it since we don’t normally get winter weather. Frankly, when I had it installed, Home Depot required it to be outside.

last year, my tankless was obliterated and had to be replaced. Insurance covered the damage but they didn’t allow me to move it so back outside it went.

This year, only the exterior plumbing suffered damage. I drained everything I could but some water remained in the pipe even with all the ports open.

With no insurance claim this year, I will pay to have it moved inside. Yikes, I guess Texas and snow is going to be a common thing now. These storms are obliterating native plants because they can’t survive freezing temperatures.

Anyhow, stay safe everyone! Good luck to everyone suffering this February thanks to natural disasters. It’ll be spring soon enough!

Weather here has been really bipolar for the last month. Somedays it's actually felt like winter and some days it remembers it's California and have heatwaves hitting 85+ degrees

Damn it's cold outside and windy too.

Not expecting the so-called winter storm tomorrow but I could be wrong.

Certain parts of eastern seaboard of Australia (south east Queensland & NSW) hit with rain bomb, leading to flooding & unfortunate related deaths. First time I've heard the phrase rain bomb.
