    Agreed! My wife was never one for fancy dresses or big ceremonies, which is fine with me. $20K is just bonkers. We'd rather spend that money on food, travel, or toys. :D  When we visited my folks in New York, they did insist on us having a dinner party out at a fancy Chinese restaurant. Much food and alcohol was involved. Not sure what my wife's side of the family have in mind when we visit them in Brazil next year, but I requested barbacoa (hopefully whole roasted pig and/or picanha).

    Once you nail down the venue, holy carp, the pressure of sorting out the invitations, dress attire, sorting out guests of honor, music, cake, decorations, theme colors, pre-celebration parties, rehearsals, and booking officiating ministers will make the time fly right by.

    Hey, folks! It was my birthday last week, and I decided to grace this thread with my (unshaven) face, but then exams got in the way. Still, I believe in "better late than never," so here I am with my amazing glow in the dark T-shirts!
