I truly, honestly, daily offer a big middle finger to "most people." All my life, I've been apart from the crowd, and I'm very glad I'm different from the rest of the lemmings. I'm a grown man and I still play video games and buy Transformers. If sheeple don't like it, then sheeple can fuck off and go back to grazing on their mountain of daily BS grass.

You really have to have that attitude and roll with it. Embrace your imperfections and aspects of your personality which set you apart, and you'll be much happier and CONFIDENT in the person you are. If there is something you don't like about yourself, change it, but ONLY if it is because YOU want to, not because others are bullying you to fit in with THEIR idea of how you should be.

Don't be beholden to this idea.

Why?

Because if you're looking for someone to be with, then sabotaging your chances at happiness are NOT the way to do it. I'll use myself as an example:


I'm a Star Trek fan.
I like how Persian women look, and I'm into Iranian history and culture.
I'm not really into tattoos.
I HATE coffee.


It would have been great to have met an un-inked Persian Trekkie who despises coffee, but if I had set my mind to only that, I'd have cut myself off to so many girls and other possibilities. You never want to cut yourself off from any path to success and happiness. Moreover, a guy who's a TF fan + collector will not necessarily = auto happiness or good FOR you.


As it stands, I'm with a (half)white chick with a few tattoos who prefers Star Wars and Indian culture, and absolutely LOVES coffee...but we click. There are many other common interests we have, but at the end of the day....we just click. You don't need to find someone who is exactly like you, you just need to find someone who respects what you like and compliments your personality.

 

 

I have yet to find that person who compliments me, Wolfguard. Collector or not. Until that moments arrives I'll still be the same person I'm happy to be, which is me.

 

The self-confidence thing goes a long way, even with men. Yeah, we're visual first and foremost, but confidence is just as attractive.

I'll let you know, Yes I do want one to some extent. But I'm happy with my current situation right now,
As I guess you could say I'm at the stage in life where I'm soul searching, I have for a couple years ever since my Mom left. I guess I just don't like to talk about it. But I once came apon something that shook me to the core, It was the happiest time of my life and then it was gone, It, In a sense destroyed itself and could have been possibly the most mature feeling I've ever got. But like I said I lost it, It made me so happy and then it destroyed me resulting with the depression I went through last winter and up to recently and still somewhat effects me at times


I had to force myself to love people, I just didn't want to accept that until recently.
It set the bar though, And now I'm trying to get the same feeling I got that time. Ever since I broke up with my last girlfriend I guess I've just been on this chain of tryig to figure out who I am. I know I won't know who that is for a while but I remember that feeling Inonce got and it tells me what I like in Life.

There are things I've always wanted I guess.

That thing that I got last time, I've started to slowly go back into it. I'm taking a slow and easy approach, Since it was really just me I know what the problemmwas and I've coem to face it and know it exactly. I won't let it destroy me this time because now I know how to handle it.
Maybe, I might change my mind in the future but I'm happy right now.
That feeling is coming back and it doesn't involve another person. Just Me and my happiness,
What I want in Life.



Collecting is one of the things that makes me happy, And as long as I am happy I am alive.
The desire for another is somewhat quenched with my solution, But like many things it can be destructive. I'm ready and confident I'm okay to take it on again.
It's in a sense just lonliness, But different.
