You misunderstand. If they say something like "i'm stupid and no one will ever love me" I will counter with an observation about a talent they have and a supportive statment. If she says "ugh I want to ditch like 5 lbs by the end of summer" I'll say, I was looking to do some jogging around the lake on weekends if you want to join me .

I am smart enough not to be condicending. If a woman is venting about an issue that's frustraiting, I'll empathize, but not counter.

People that attempt to invalidate feelings are irritating. "you're too pretty to be sad, or "you're just bitter she doesn't like you". Shit like that drives me nuts.

I think the general consensus is correct, my friend is a bit of a nut bar, but still my friend.

That moment when that chick you liked is now dating a shittier version of you. Like it's both kinda annoying and kinda hilarious.

Whatever though. Gonna be interesting to see if she goes to the movies without him tonight or if we're doing the God awful double thing. The way she was talking yesterday praying to God no doubles.

Yeah, the open relationship thing only ever really works if you are open with everybody. (Like "Hey I can see you're interested, I like you to. I'm in an open relationship, if you're ok with that we can have fun").

    Sorry you got punk'd :(

Don't blame you for walking away from that bullshit. I would have too the moment she said that she has a bf.

I hear ya. When there's someone you like, sometimes it can feel like you may not find another that you'd like as much. Some think they won't ever find another. But it's like I always tell people. You got several billion people on this planet....that person, was just one. You'll come across another.

Besides...from your posts it doesn't really seem like you have problems meeting people. I would tell you not to even worry or feel any guilt. You didn't know she had a boyfriend. If you're feeling guilty because you had to think about it, I'd ask you why. You stuck to your principles and I don't think you did anything wrong.

Hah, I once contemplated going out with a chick that was in an "open relationship." Then, after that 5 seconds was over, I stopped talking to her all together.

    Never be someone's doormat.

And yet you still stuck to your beliefs and didn't compramise yourself. I'm with Seeker, you did the right thing and really, should be proud of yourself for that.

So I asked out a woman I have kinda known since high school. We went to the same college. She said yes! I asked her where she wanted to go and she said Turkey Run State Park. She knows I like to camp, but that is one hell of a first date if you ask me. It takes over an hour just to get there!

Actually, I asked her to go to dinner, and she recommended this. There is a really nice inn...
