My only gripe comes from those buying mostly if not exclusively KO's, even if they don't alter anything to the mold

I wouldn't even go that far, tbh I like the work quite a number of them did to existing molds, but I wish there was more of a "buy the original and get the KO later" mentality rather than "I'll wait for the KO," especially when its just oversizing the fuckin' thing and throwing useless metal into it.

I don’t judge anyone for purchasing KOs. With how expensive MPs and other figures are, KOs provide a more affordable option.

There are ethical aspects to that as well, but I’m sure that’s been discussed well over in other threads.

Gonna be unpopular in this one, but people shouting about a topic going off topic. Forums are, like, 2% news and 98% discussion. Don't quash a tangent just because it got away from the topic, since it likely spawned and evolved from the topic. If it fits in another forum (like here or Unpopular Toy Opinions), that's one thing, but not all deviations are like that.

I would be more OK with KOs (ones that change nothing from the original figure) if they weren't made, like, immediately after the actual version. If it's a toy that's been out for a year or two and is unavailable virtually everywhere, then I could tolerate a KO being made, so long as it were advertised as such. At least then, people have a chance to get their hands on it. For example, I'd love it if someone KO'ed HA Mudflap.

Which irks you? Off topic or comments about it being off topic?

Comments about things being off topic. Tangents aren’t necessarily off topic, and because they’re organic, I like to see where they go, but they usually don’ last once someone interjects about it being “off topic”

I used to care more when I liked and sold Takara MPs. Now that I don't do either, I hope the rampant KOs put the line under.

    Yes!
It's a discussion forum. Sometimes, discussions wander. And that should be ok.

So many different Bumblebees in so many different lines, it’s frickin’ ridiculous. And I like Bumblebee as a character, but I’m starting to be disgusted by the fact that we’re getting all these different versions of Bee except for the ones so many of us want. Give me a Cybertronian saucer or Volkswagen Beetle in a mainline (screw Masterpiece or 3rd Party) and keep all the Camaros, Jeeps, Cyberverse Sporty Coupes, etc. And then move onto oversaturation of a different character. Yellow fever needs to die!

I've had posts deleted for being "off topic" when it was a natural progression.

It feels like if you don't get a figure within th first week of pre order or general sale going up, you have to pay at least 50% markup or more. And they sell out really quick these days. It kills the enthusiasm of collecting.

Got a beef with Hastak. Megatron getting the short end of stick in recent mainlines. First the Siege with the non locking head, loose ankles, forearms you can see right through and droopy straight up stance. Now Studio Series 2007 version which uses a lot of the voyager ROTF and they put most of the jet parts on the legs so they look ridiculous. Was hoping to put it next to MPM 8, which is great by the way, but damn they took the lazy route with it. Come on Hastak! I'll buy all your Megatrons if you put some effort into them!

Ahh, so what you’re saying is you want the KO companies to put their materials through a more rigorous refining process, thereby enabling them to produce products that don’t just occasionally surpass the originals, but to better them in perpetuity...
    Interesting perspective.
