Armada was LOTR compared to the WFC Trilogy. And given how the production was pared back for WFC, and so many figures were hard to get, I’d wager Armada already sold better. It was the reason Hasbro started having multiple lines for Transformers in the first place.
Tired of going to any thread about rotb and seeing people still whining about wheeljack or Bay or the producer of the movie get over it
At this rate the number of people complaining about others complaining about Bay and Lorenzo will far outnumber the latter.
I think it already is. I don't go to movie threads or anything like that and Theres always some dude complaining about someone else complaining about wheeljacks face and it's just so annoying I don't care about the movie one way or another but it's gone full circle. Complaining about people complaining. Now I'm doing it too. Endless loop. But this is the first and last time I bring it up
Micron Legend, the original Japanese version of Armada: Am I a joke to you? Seriously though, Micron Legend is a much better and complete show than its English dub counterpart in every way, and unless you just want to watch it for the funny "meme" factor, I can't think of any reason why you should watch Armada over Micron Legend nowadays (Especially when fansubs are now a thing). Not only does Armada severely dumb down various plots, characters, and themes from Micron Legend that make ML such an interesting show, but I also dislike how the Armada dub doesn't really know what silence or even subtlety is; They would put a ton of audio, or adding in unnecessary filler dialogues over some very important parts of the show (like they can't just let what happened on the scene did all the work) and it cheapens those moments.
I want to like the Transformers movies, but I can’t see them as anything but cash grabs by people with no love of the original franchise. This comment by the writers on this article highlights all that is wrong with the movies. They make mirage a Porsche only on a whim because they liked the car. Could have randomly chosen to start with a smart car if they wanted. The producers don’t care about what the characters at last were or their original personalities. They are just starting from scratch and making things up as they go, like if nothing existed before. Why Transformers now look like a big bunch of gears and car parts
From the article the director said: “[By 1994] You start to step away from square-bodied cars and say, 'hello curves.'" Tell me you have no idea what you are talking about without saying those exact words. This one quote told me to stay away from this movie as he has seemingly very little attention to detail, which is something I’d like to see in my directors. By the mid-90s just about every mini-van and sports car had embraced the “curve” and even sedans were moving away from it. Remember this piece of awesome from 1990?
Yeah I have read a few interviews with the director and every one has made me say "oh no". Dude does not care about this movie at all and it shows. It is no wonder we ended up getting Urkel bot rather than Wheeljack.
Transformers fans when characters with the same name are different in different continuities (no one tell them that this has been happening since the beginning).
Hell, I’d be ok with Urkelbot—which is a fantastic name—if he was a new character. But they obviously just did a whole new design and slapped an old name on him for the “nostalgia” and marketing factor.
