Mine came without the green matrix. I didn't bother trying to get a new figure or a refund. Just too much work
I don't blame you. I am fortunate not to have had to RMA any figures to date. But when FedEx lost my entire shipment of Speedia Wave 1 Deluxes it was a nightmare of phone calls and back and forth before they were found. It really sucks how Hasbro's sub-entities are so siloed off from each other that they can't even give you a proper replacement for figures that they still have in stock on their own website.
Oof sounds like a pain.. yea my only hope is if the guy who's broke doesn't want his anymore and would be willing to mail me the thing.. uh matrix of Christmas spirit or something lol
Sorry, I would but I do intend on trying to fix this guy somehow. I will either try glue/plastic weld. If that doesn't work I'll try and model the piece in cad and replace it.
Honestly, it just stopped mattering for me. During the WFC era and the pandemic the product was so underwhelming and so hard to get for a while that I was digging through my existing collection and rediscovering the awesomeness I already own. It helps that I've been collecting for 37 of the 39 years the line has been around (was more into X-Men while G2 was active). I've got a huge backstock of toys and characters, so at this point, Hasbro needs to do more to entice me to buy. Poor distribution of cost-cutting, show accurate, often back to basics figures doesn't doesn't entice me. At this point, even the stuff I really want is just "nice to get" rather than "must have", especially at current prices!
They put all their budget into the robot mode and didn't think kids would ever play with this, so slider nubs were probably an acceptable trade-off to them, and they're probably not wrong in the scheme of things, the figure's good enough that it'll sell well. But they could have taken it across the finish line with a better alt mode, bigger and with those wheels.
Third party sellers are a cancer. I hate going to Amazon to check out a figure to find the only ones available are from "Tom, Dick, and Harry LLC" for nearly twice the MSRP.
One thing I also hate about this is that people don’t always realize they are paying above MSRP from third party sellers. It’s why I stopped putting toys on my public shopping list. I am always worried the price will balloon and some well-intended soul will end up paying $40 for a core class figure not realizing it is $8 at Target.
I know it’s very much too late but after getting Needlenose in hand (great figure) it made me mad all over again that Hotshot and A-Starscream both don’t have minicons. I know Hasbro has decided internally that smol guys are a dead end but they absolutely could have included a minicon with the same complexity as Needles Targetmasters. Hotshot at least has a spot for Jolt but Starscream doesn’t even have the damn back port for Swindle, which is part of why I’m convinced they aren’t coming later as cores. I’d happily be proven wrong as long as they aren’t hard to get though.
Counterpoint, a minicon of the same quality as Peacemaker or Sunbeam n Zigzag would suck. Hope there’s core releases down the road. Happy we didn’t get some that were crappy.
I had high hopes that the weird T30 minicon team in the deluxe packaging was going to usher in a new age of larger scale, cooler minicons…but, alas, it was not to be…(sigh)
ARE YOU KIDDING ME! AGAIN!! Ugh replacement it is Why does this happen to me. This is one of my favorite molds, especially for optimus and now he's just an action master essentially Edit: The first time he broke was because he took a shelf dive. This time I guess the part might have already been stressed and just gave away.
I'd suggest that if it keeps breaking you should maybe re-evaluate it's place on your favourites list...
