You know that’s fair. I think it’s much better to post something on eBay for msrp and have it end up going to like idk $200+ then post it for $200+. This is obviously only taking about things that are not already $200+ msrp.
Throwing this here rather than bumming out the recent purchases thread: the sheer amount of fine modding I'm doing to studio 86 jazz (filing, shaving, clipping) to make the alt mode fit together smoothly shouldn't need to be done. Yeah, I'm not on about the plastic today, I'm on about the clearances and mold QC. The copy I got doesn't appear to have any stress marks or splits, and hopefully these fixes help keep it that way.
People just stealing toys now. I've been to so many stores where I currently live and have seen so many ripped open packages just hidden in plain sight. People don't even try to hide it. And I doubt they get caught.
Just saw an opened BW Scorponok. It was complete and attached to the insert, but no box anywhere in sight. I know it’s not stealing, but just no respect.
Joke's on them - once toy stores close because of their lack of profits, in part thanks to people stealing, they'll have nowhere to steal from. Yeah I used to list items as buy it now at what I thought they were worth, but this was often tricky to determine with reasonable accuracy. Now they literally go for what they're worth at that moment, as people will often just stop bidding once they reach what they're okay with paying. Sometimes it also means that people get figures for crazy steals, which I'm always happy with, as I remember how exciting it used to be getting deals like that myself!
Negative: FOMO is intensifiying with PulseCon, worried I might not get everything I want. Positive: Have Pulse Premium and flexible work schedule. Negative: Also kind of overwhelmed looking at my spreadsheet of everything I budgeted for and pre-ordered. Positive: Holiday work bonus, also, I started to cancel a few pre-orders, and it went like dominoes, cancelled quite a few and not experiencing any regrets, lol. Negative: Toxic/annoying posts on TFW2005. Positive: Ignore button... ever click to see who is on your ignore list once in a while? I just did and noticed like ~8 out of 10 are banned, lol! endRant.
I'm trying to sell one of my Power rangers Lightning figure last week at local marketplace and I listed it with description "LIKE NEW complete with accessories , see photos" ....but still...... Buyer : is it still in perfect condition? Me : Yes as in description Buyer : Does it come with the box? Me : Yes, the photo clearly shows the figure inside the window box ! Buyer : Does it includes all the accessories? Me : Blocked this clown from sending msg (too bad the marketplace doesnt allow me to block buyer from buying)
So here's a new one and it's probably going to be spicy. I try to keep this hobby as positive as possible. Oh sure like everything else it has its problems and frustrations - the canceled pre-order here or the underwhelming toy there, but Transformers is about pure escapism. It's about joy. It's akin to eating a big bowl of sugary cereal like you're a kid again. What other reason does someone in their mid to late 30s have about spending a couple thousand dollars a year on a plastic toys, or going to see a showing of a 35 year old animated movie? Life has a lot of stress for me and other people and responsibilities grow and grow. So when it comes to this hobby, if it isn't positive, it isn't worth doing. Today it was not positive. It's not a big deal, but man is it annoying. I follow a bunch of Transformers news and 3rd parties and garage kit people on Facebook and twitter. I hope to find out about things earlier, maybe before I read it here. Well today, on FB, this popped up in my feed on the Facebook page of one of the 3D printing people I've bought from before. (If you want to know what this phrase means, here is an explainer: How 'Let's go Brandon' became an anti-Biden conservative heckle) I've blacked out the name because I don't want it to be become "a' thing" with him and having him dragged for having an opinion. I will say it's not JRC Design and Nonnef, which are the two best addon people out there. It's someone else. Let me be clear: I don't care about the politics being expressed in this image. I disagree with his politics to be sure, but he has a right to have those affiliations, and yes, to be toxic in expressing them. It's still a free country. My objection / rant is not remotely about that. If it were a pro-Biden / anti-Trump toxic one (or even a non-toxic one), I'd be just as annoyed. What I do care about (and am ranting about) is that like the fucking virus it is, this toxic political shit infiltrates even this hobby. Even something that is supposed to be about joy is not immune from someone injecting not just politics (which would be annoying enough), but toxic politics, into it. And we who follow expecting Transformers-related stuff are subjected to this intrusion into our joyful hobby. Maybe it was a slip... an error in judgement. We all do stupid things. But I don't do politics on Facebook, Twitter, or here and have a zero tolerance approach to it. It's not my thing to do in a social media setting, so I promptly de-friended the guy/store and won't be buying from him again. It's just insane to me though with everything that's happened in the past 5 years, and in the past 20 months with Covid especially, that someone thought it cool to drag even this harmless escapism down into the depths of the political coarseness that most decent people are utterly sick to death of. Did he really think "you know what Transfans and my customers needs more of? Toxic political sniping." If this guy wants to stand along the side of a road and wave a flag with "Let's Go Brandon", more power to him. As Optimus Prime would say "Freedom is his right". And politics are important! The message delivered in that saying is coarse but the issues our country faces and the problem solving them matter a great deal. But does even this hobby need to be yet another battlefield for it? Is that really how things need to go? I think it's been pretty good about keeping it out as a whole, so I wouldn't blow it up into more than what it is, but it's a reminder to be on guard about how quick a slip can happen. So let's just recommit to keeping this a positive, politics-free hobby and community. One about uniting in shared love of Transformers, and not yet another one pointlessly riven by toxicity in a country whose people are actively forgetting how to talk kindly to one and other.
Kingdom Galvatron is going to be re-packed in Leader Wave 2 of Legacy in 2022. So if you can't get him now, just wait.
I've experienced this too. I've started to believe in the past few years that the CAD software they design Transformers toys in don't properly reflect the materials they're using, their thickness, tolerences and naturally variable QC. In order to get more cartoon accurate molds they're going for more elaborate and ambitious transformation schemes, and you can imagine everything locking together perfectly in a computer program. But when you add in a layer of paint and natural variation on thickness of plastic and natural microscopic warping from heat, suddenly the CAD digital copy no longer really works. Jazz is a great figure, but also a super-troubled one.
Dude i 100% agree with this! Im like this as well. Theres places for politics and they need to stay where they are. Its the biggest reason i don't do social media anymore. Youtube is my biggest headache when it comes to this. Its gotten to the point I don't cluck on anything unrelated to food, transformers, videogames, vtubers/anime. Even if im bloody curious i wont venture off cause for some reason youtubes like "oh i noticed you clicked on a puppy video so were gonna spam your feed with nothing but politics" politics have gotten so bad ive even told people I AGREE with to shut up and take it somewhere else. Why won't people ever take the fing hint. No matter what side politics isn't welcomed.
Oooo thanxs for the heads up I'll def keep my eye open for that. Im getting kinda nervous im seeing other stores are getting selects galv instock yet tfsource hasn't yet and hes the inly thing im waiting for so i can send my stack.
No problem. Because of the seeming delay in launching Legacy, Leader Wave 2 will probably land in September of next year at this rate, so it'll be a while, but it should be much easier to get. I won't spoil the legacy line up in case you don't like spoilers (it's out there if you want it), but according to my chart, of the three fully known wave breakdowns as they currently stand, the only repacks in it are Core Optimus Prime and Leader Galvy. Unlike Earthrise and Kingdom, there is no Deluxe repacks, so if you're looking for anything from there, it looks like you have to move unless they show up in Part 2 of the next trilogy (which isn't likely).
Damn, sorry you can't find a Galvatron. I only ever saw one at my local target. Never again, he has the backward shoulders but I genuinely don't give a single f-uh cube of energon. Hope you can find one eventually
Oh snap thanks. Last time i checked bbts he was listed as sold out so ill def keep an eye on this one as well.
Damn it this is supposed to be a rant thread and u guys are being wholesome. Gotta balance it!! Errrrrr where is slapdash! I want a new slapdash! End rant.
I've learned far too much about people I thought I knew in recent years. It sucks. Some of us need an escape of some sort.
I agree. I’m a pretty political person and I love taking about politics. This is not the space for it, however. There’s a time and a place for everything.
Figures that have wrists stuck in the “lifting weights” position. Though recently one figure I THOUGHT had that issue actually does have wrist swivel, GDO Cliffjumper. A figure I really like that doesn’t have wrist swivel and thus makes this rant, is Beast Hunters Bulkhead. EDIT- And actually I also wish BH Bulkhead didn’t have 2 Transparent horns that also give him the look of Two giant eyes and a smiling mouth
