Welcome to the Official Rant Thread. You can rant, rave, whine, complain, or otherwise vent your frustrations regarding anything that can remotely tie into this great (and terrible) hobby. I wanted to put everything in one place to spare any board members who are tired of new rant threads everyday. Now we can all be miserable together! The rules are simple: 1. Rant about anything relevant to this site or the hobby in general. 2. No personal attacks on other board members (take it to the moderators if it's a problem). 3. While a rant can be brutally honest, the discussion around a rant has to be civil (if someone's pissed off, what's the point of pissing them off even further?). If you disagree with a rant, either say so politely or say nothing at all. 4. No quoting when you're writing a rant. It could put pressure on a board member unduly. 5. Nothing said here is forever, so feel free to edit or delete as you see fit. 6. Your rant cannot violate the TFW2005 rules. That's it! Let the rants begin! ...At least until this thread implodes or a mod shuts it down (but hopefully it won't come to that).
I'm sick and tired of seeing the pegs and shelves filled with wave 1 figures. Stopped at Walmart yesterday and they were filled to the brink of Studio Series Starscream and Optimus. There must've been at least 8 of them each, and the pegs were full of wave 1 POTP deluxes with absolutely no room for any other wave besides them.
Some of my excitement for Masterpiece has been sucked out by various negative comments. I'm fine with criticism but some of the comments I've read are quite harsh, in particular to those of a differing opinion. Cue someone going "gee you have such thin skin." I know, those folks shouldn't matter. I like Masterpiece!
Good lord, Hasbro, would it really break the bank to print instructions in color, ESPECIALLY if it involves 86 stickers? Or at least have them available in color online so they can actually be zoomed in?
I'm strongly disappointed that this thread will do nothing to siphon the endless complaining from every other thread. That's mine, hope it stays civil here. And maybe fun.
Am I the only one who wishes that POTP wasn't a complete fizzle?! I mean Hasbro finished TR, one of the best lines of action figures EVER and they follow it up with this crap! Nonsensical forced Combiner teams, flimsy molds (Jazz and Starscream), more gross stickers, and a vote for a gimmickry figure and they didn't tell us the gimmick! I love Primal but that should've been Thunderwing or Saber! Rant over.
I HATE people who rant. Disgusting animals. Really turns my stomach. I could go on for hours about my boundless disdain for the practice. Whew, feels good to get that out. Don't get me started on hypocrites.
I’m tired of this polarization of G1 fans and fans of other iterations like Beast Wars, UT, etc. I will take anything G1 you give me because I am madly in love with it. But I am not going to say no to BW updates, or UT updates, or hell even RID01 updates. I think the new Ultra Magnus having an RID vehicle mode is absoluetly amazing, and I would buy every single figure from a new BW themed line. Every figure. I still love G1, but I can love other things too, and so do a lot of people in the fandom. We aren’t all on just one “side”, but people try to make it that way.
I hate classic characters getting murdered by new characters just to show badass that new character is!
Here is my rant. FUCK people who do this on ebay: Like seriously man.. what is your number. Is it 23.. is it 26.. is it 32... is it 35.. is it 38... is it 41.... is it 44... is it 46!!!!!!!!!! I CAN JUST IMAGINE SOME LOSER SITTING THERE PECKING IN 1 BID AT A TIME..... AND I IMAGINE HE LOOKS SOMETHING LIKE THIS. Spoiler As you can tell I am mad that I am losing this auction to some neckbeard who literally probably wants to flip this figure for $90! When this figure isn't even worth $90 to begin with.... Ugh. I have been having such bad luck tracking down this TM2 Blackarachnia for my shelf.
If it's any consolation, almost every TM2 figure I've purchased loose has had significant chrome flake, likely from temperatures sustained in shipping. One of those things I've resigned to wait until I can see it in person, sadly. I looked everywhere for TM2 Black Arachnia as a kid, but when I finally found her my mom wouldn't let me buy the figure because she was firmly against spiders having breasts. Fair point, mom, but I still want that badass figure.
that's why I am trying to pay $45 tops. not $90. oh well.. one will pop up.. it may take a year but one will pop up eventually. Dude lol this is the first pic that pops up when you google image search "neckbeard".
Yeah, I have a fondness for obscure characters from G1 and hell, even the more prominent ones too. They've all got something I like. This extends to everything in Transformers. It seems that for the most part, every series has something to love. I personally even latch onto weird, line unique releases such as Alpha Bravo and Rodimus Unicronus. The RID2001 homage and possible UT Hot Shot are very cool touches. Although, enjoying so much can make it sorta annoying when certain parts of the franchise don't seem to get very much attention after a while, or a homage isn't fully baked. That has, admittedly, lead to some complaints from me in the past.
