I love it but,it could be perfect if it could run certain Mame games,mine is a Phat. I don't care about Psp 2 and Psp 3 and never will,I find it pretty damn mind boggling that a Phat can play Neo Geo games that are bigger than games as small as the X-Men and Spider-man arcade game. >.<
It's not so fun anymore. Dark Alex hasn't released a firmware since the 5.00 m33 (a year ago?). So, all of the newer titles just don't work without scene patching and lots of hassle. I do get lots of looks while playing Super Mario All Stars on the train though.
I know the PSP scene is pretty dead,but damn it,who needs a PSP 2 and 3 when you got a portable PSP that can play sooooooooooooooooooooo many games for so many different emulators. I don't think this awesome piece of machinery gets enough respect or love. There is a lot of people which I think don't realize how far we have come with technology when it comes to this thing.
who needs a PSP 2? Sony. People who want to sell games. People who make games. People who want to play new games. Sony and the game companies don't care about the users that are just using it to play games that they didnt pay for. that makes it a dead platform in the eyes of anyone who may want to make games for it.
I know hacked PSPs can play new games. Hell, I hacked mine for a while, but got tired of waiting for updates so I could play the new games I bought, so I went back to official firmware. But he was saying there doesnt need to be a new PSP because the current one can play emulators. that's not a good reason at all. sony isnt making any money off PSP game sales, and neither are any other companies. that's why there needs to be a new PSP, because the current one is a dead system from the game companies perspective.
To me it is,there is more variety and and more exciting titles,in a reasonable scenario it is a good reason if you're someone who really doesn't give a damn about new video game consoles or who doesn't give a damn about new video game consoles period. There are others who are in the minority and I do understand that Sony has to make business. It's like I should care which I shouldn't since I am not a business man,despite what can be better when it comes to PSP consoles,I think the brand has very much largely ran it's course. I didn't suggest that people should stop buying PSP consoles on account of how the PSP can play a bunch of emulators,I was merely speaking on my behalf,and besides the emulators things I appreciate the other many features the PSP offers as well.
I'm actually surprised how not many people imo seem to give a damn about PSP 3. I suppose people like X-Box and PSP 2 better,much better.
Meh. I have my PSP hacked with 5.00 m33-6, it suits my needs perfectly. Get to play some of my old PSX favourites (FF VII, Resident Evil 1-3) and of course SNES games! I just finally found Fire Pro Wrestling G, so I have an actual good wrestling game to play on the go rather than the lousy games WWE seems to still put out... I'm good.
