Not as epic as some years past, but the phone was my big present this year and I got it a month early because I desperately needed an upgrade from my lousy Galaxy S3 to something that could actually work. The camera on the S9+ is actually something good and the battery on it doesn't die if you even suggest it needs to connect to 4G so it was worth taking a hit on more expensive gifts this year in return for a phone that finally brings me up to date tech wise.

Additionally, I snagged two rare Athearn Pickle Tank cars off ebay for $30 on Christmas Day as well - one with Kadee #5 knuckle coupler upgrades and the other simply needing the upgrade (which I've already performed as that one arrived first, the second is due tomorrow). These things I just learned the existence of are extremely rare in this condition based on what I can find, so having them in ready-to-run status so quickly opens up a new interesting type of industry on my transition era HO layout.

 

Someone I talked to at work went and got me the leg lamp from A Christmas Story!
