Ahhh... I'm not going to get into this Fantasy Football debate. I just don't see LSU walking on water.... in fact

I see Georgia beating them because :)

I agree 100% with everything posted here. LSU losing would probably be one of the BEST things to happen. We need a playoff, not some paper champ.

If it was any other team that had to lose, I'd agree.

But it's LSU. So I just can't do it.

Wisconsin is going to whip Michigan State this time. There will be no "last play of the game fluke" this time. :)

    Wisconsin better win....it's payback time.

I vote for Montee Ball as the Heisman Trophy winner. One of the greatest years for a running back in NCAA history....and he's not done yet.

I don't blame you, it's easy to say that when your favorite team isn't involved:lol

I think LSU is so far ahead of everyone else that I think they can still make it to BCS title game even if they lose to uga. Here is an interesting scenario though, only 2 teams from any conference can go to any of the BCS bowls. Uga would go to one if they win sec conf champ game which leaves only one more spot for sec. It would be very interesting if that happens. Would Alabama jump LSU to go to BCS title game if LSU lost to uga? Seems unfair to LSU but possible. LSU could possibly not even go to a BCS bowl at all (or bama).

But Georgia has to be ranked in the top 14.

I believe conference champs from the 6 BCS conferences get automatic bids regardless of bcs rank. But even still, uga will be ranked at least 14 if they best LSU. In fact right now uga is 14 in the BCS standings. Impossible for them to drop further if they beat lsu. But again moot point cuz conference champs get auto bid.

So Urban Meyer does indeed make his way to The Ohio State University. I hope all the little denizens of that state up north are ready to lost another 6-7 in a row :D  Of course if he comes up in the house and starts pulling a Cooper, I will be highly disappoint, and his days might be limited.

One of the problems with how BCS teams are determined is ironically what people like me have championed for years, which is through the conference championship games. I always hated the fact that the Big 10 and PAC-10 never had those games because it allowed those schools to sneak into some of the BCS games without an extra loss in a big title game.

Now, a school like Alabama can lose to a #1 seed and possibly play for the national championship WITHOUT even playing in their conference championship! That's beyond preposterous!!!

Divisions within the conferences clearly aren't working, because if it were, then UCLA wouldn't be playing for the PAC-10 championship this year (I know about USC, but still). I just think the whole BCS system is a mess.

I kind of like this idea for determining the champion, and it would really draw my interest in contrast to the current set-up:

    1. Divisions within conferences ELIMINATED. Combine all the schools into one division.
    2. Top 2 schools from each conference face off in conference championship. The title games would be better, also. This year, we'd get the rematch between Alabama and LSU and not have this crisis NT rematch scenario that's playing out now.
    3. Conference winners get a ticket to the playoffs, which would feature winners of the ACC, Big 10, Big 12, PAC-10, and one at-large bid from the other smaller conferences based on ranking. Odds are only a team or two would be in the running for that spot anyway.

Playoff Week 1: #6 and #3 seeds play, as do #4 and #5 seeds. #1 and #2 seeds byed.
Playoff Week 2: #1 vs. lowest seeded winner. #2 vs. other remaining team.
Playoff Week 3: National Championship game.

Keep all the bowls since people like them, and rotate which bowl houses the championship.

That would fun, interesting, and I think would draw big ratings.

    What do you think?

The NC State vs Maryland game this past weekend was the wildest comeback I've ever seen in any sport. NCSU was down 41-14 in middle of the 3rd qtr only to go on a 42-0 run to win 56-41.

This is such a strange hiring in my opinion. Not that Meyer isn't a good coach because the guy is fantastic.....

BUT didn't he almost die a year ago? Plus, what about the "I want to spend time with my kids/wife" statement? Was 10 months enough?:lol

I guess so, I also noticed my typo in there :banghead:

It was odd indeed, I feel bad for Fickell and I am glad they didn't just send him to the streets, he was put in what amounted to an impossible situation.

Man... Georgia sure is moving the ball UP and DOWN the field on this amazing, walking on water, LSU defense.:D :lol

EDIT: So is Georgia better than Alabama? it took them 1 quarter to score MORE points than Bama did in 4.

It's almost better for LSU to lose now. Less pressure in the national championship. 18-1 Patriots come to mind.
