What did they retcon, other than Optimus' backstory isn't what he thought? It's not a plot hole if they explain in a sequel (which was clearly set up).

It was heavily suggested through dialogue that the Autobots had been in communication and seen each other since the Chicago war.

Except he didn't. We didn't see Prime send his message. He sent the message before going into hiding himself.

It wasn't pristine. It was shown damaged and being rebuilt.

That's not a plot hole. It's a character that is an amalgamation of two different characters.

Maybe a plot hole, but since he will clearly be in TF5, can't say for sure.

 

On the 'death cards' attinger has, besides Ironhide, ratchet and Leadfoot, who else was recognizable?

I guess Optimus Prime and Megatron/Galvatron are always going to fight.Neither will stay dead 'till all are one.

 

What I'm really starting to think is from day 1 these 2 were built for a reason. Optimuse to eventually kill Unicron and Megs to pave the way for Unicron's return. And both are being kept alive by the 2 super powers. Its like the Greek Gods stepping in to constantly aid them on their quests, with weapons and god like abilities and so on lol.

 

That's exactly what I think they are alive for a bigger reason.

 

Essentially making Unicron the mortal enemy of the Creators? That would be intriguing.

 

Perhaps a creation that got out of hand.
