Sad but true. They have the absolute most pitiful defense in the league :(

Weekes did play very well against the Sabers though.

During the first game of the season against Carolina, McCabe was playing great at first until he injured his back. He suffered a fractured vertebra and he has been on Injured Reserve ever since. I've heard last weekend that McCabe is 97% healed and is back skating during practice. He might be ready to play again this Thursday against the LA Kings.

But now some Panthers fans are saying the Van Ryn-McCabe trade was a mistake, because McCabe is prone to injury. But I remember reading after the trade took place, some of the Toronto fans were saying good riddance about McCabe.

Sucks for Brodeur's loss, I wanted to see him beat those records ... Guess we'll have to wait for his return to see that.

I won't lie, most of us were glad to see him go. it's not that he isn't a good Offensive defenseman, it's that his defensive abilities are suspect, to say the least. it also remains to be seen how much is offensive production will hurt from not haveing Tomas Kaberle there to set him up. I hope he gets his career back on track, but at the moment, we are all quite pleased with the trade, which was not necessarily the case when it first happened.

Habs got beaten twice this weekend by Columbus (Friday 4-3 in shootout) and Leafs 6-3.

    Speaking of Van Ryn:

I did indeed saw Modano's comments, and it was good to hear that from him as I've always thought he was a class act.

As for the Bruins, no clue exactly why they're so red hot right now, but I'll take it. Also, wtf NHL for not putting Tim Thomas on the all star ballot. He was an all star last year (sure as an alternate, but all star nonetheless), leads the league in save percentage and is second in GAA and somehow that doesn't warrant a spot on the ballot? For shame NHL, for shame.

I have learned so much about hockey since I started playing fantasy hockey. Next season I should be able to participate in the TFW league.

Question: Any chance Nikolai Khabibulin will be traded to Devils this season? If he does I think he'll flourish in NJ with a more defensively oriented team.

Hey I found out yesterday about Van Ryn suffered a broken finger, nose and a concussion and will be out for a month. How did that happened? I have not kept up with hockey for the past four days and I just found out the Panthers beat the Ducks last Sunday.

He was run from behind by the Canadiens' Kostopolous, who received a three game suspension yesterday.

Argh, Rangers lost another close game! The Rangers' offense better step up and score more for Lindqvist next time.

Wow was that Bruins-Blackhawks game good. Khabibulin looked like he did back in 2004, just completely unreal. And after seeing how well Tim Thomas performed again it just makes me more pissed that he's somehow not on the all star ballot. Also, Julien using PJ Axelsson as the third shooter in the shootout? I can't believe that actually worked. Can't wait for the Canadiens game tonight, although the Bruins will probably get killed after being worn out by yesterday's game. Whoever scheduled them to have 10 games in 18 days is just hateful.

Damn. The Blackhawks have such difficulty winning shootouts. I'm not sure whether its just bad luck or proof that the team is still young.

I fear the next few weeks for the 'Hawks though. They're getting ready for their annual "Circus Trip", which happens when Ringling Brothers takes over the United Center for a few weeks each year. Bad luck for the Blackhawks and Bulls every year.

I feel your pain...the Bruins start every season with two weeks plus on the road due to the damn circus being in town. I think the Hawks will do alright though, they sure as hell looked damn good last night.

Do you guys think Alexander Semin is going to keep up his torrid streak of 1.8 goal per game? I am thinking about trading for him knowing how high his value must be now.
