I haven't read the first two novels, but I have read the third. So I prefer the novel. I put up multi-vote so you can vote for each movie. Please, one vote for each movie.

The novels. Novels had plot-filling, better characterized Cybertronians, wonderful scenes that never made it into the final film because they did not involve dog rape or women's panties.

Mikaela's panties were also seen in ROTF and there is the infamous Alice scene before Mikaela busted them in bed together.

Not those two scenes... Mikaela and Alice are in the ROTF novel though.

Well I know Mikaela would be, didn't know about Alice though, I loved Sam's screaming during that movie scene.

The novels are only nice because we have movies too. Without movies and their visuals and music and to a degree, their faults, the novels would be less interesting.

When I want to sit down and watch the action unfold before my eyes, I prefer the movies. When I want to sit down and imagine all of the imagery, I want the novels.

Apples and oranges. They're two completely different mediums with completely different strengths and weaknesses. The 2.5 hour movie would make a horrible novel, and the 350 page novel would make an unbearable movie.

I haven't read the first and second novels but I voted for the third novel over the movie. From the very first chapter I knew the novel was way better. More info on characters, more Autobot casualties, actually sad death scenes and a Megatron that doesn't raw like someone trying to be scary and Sentinel dying from his own acid gun.

While I'm kinda starting to stop hating movie Optimus (apart from some parts), the line in the novel "his eye insults me. I plucked it out" makes Optimus sound deranged.

Have you actually read Crichton's Jurassic Park? :lol  The Jurassic Park book is as different from the Jurassic Park movie as DotM is compared to the DotM novelization. And that's exactly what I'm getting at. Different mediums, attempting to tell a similar story, each with great differences compared to the different mediums.

Agreed. In almost all cases, the book is better than the movie.

Both have their highlights for me. I like the scale and action of the movie, I liked some of the minor differences here and there, with Soundwave actually fighting Bee and Ratchet having a touch more presence.

The novel makes me laugh with all the references Sam makes, like using a Batsignal to find Optimus and comparing Burce Brazo to Dracula, and I like Optimus and Megs teaming up on Sentinel.

I'd say they're even; the novel is a tad more interesting and humourous, the movie is more actiony and exciting. Both of them appeal to me regardless :D

Neither. The current comics would be my choice, with DotM after that. If I could get a TFs movie with the level of story/characterization as MtMtE, it'd be my choice of perfection.

The novels are cool but are written with the idea that you've/you'll see the movie. I remember thinking that when I was reading DotM, that if I never saw the movie, I really wouldn't get the visuals it's trying to convey.
