Ah, later this evening I might be able to answer that then, I think most of my shelves are still set at the even distribution level. One or 2 I moved around, tallest figures I ever put on mine were CW combiners or Siege Jetfire

Are any of the shelves "fixed" on the Billy? I've had others where the center shelf couldn't be adjusted.

Anyhow, I think you'll get 11.5" to maybe 12" clear on each shelf if spaced evenly. I welcome someone who has one accessible to double check.

From the research I’ve done (don’t own a Billy yet) the middle shelf can’t be moved but all of the rest of them are adjustable.

On my Billy book case from Ikea, as well as the 2 that belong to my gf, all of the shelves are adjustable except for the center shelf and the height of each shelf when evenly placed is about 12 inches

Just put another one together last weekend. Like most any bookcase the Billy's center shelf is fixed, but yes, 11.5-12 inches between shelves is approximately what you get.

Think I’m going to go two tall white IKEA Milsbo’s instead of waiting for the Billy/Högbo to restock. While they seem perfect for 1/6 figures I think they could work well for a MP/legends collection without too much headroom.

Late to the game, but I can say that I can fit the entire Ark Autobot lineup in one shelf, and so as long as you sort them by height, and move away from the A-stance, you can fit them all in, and it looks great.

I have never been able to get them truly equal, but like others have said around 12 inches.

    Agreed!

These two shelf placements (I tend to alternate them for visual variety) are about as close to equal as you can get … but you’ll always end up with a shelf that’s a little smaller than the others, but then that just dictates what figures might go on each…

So this might be a weird question but for people with taller bookshelves like Billys do you sit it flush against the wall or leave a small gap? I'm considering getting a Billy but I'm afraid about vibrations from the wall it would sit against.

I sit mine flush against the wall and anchor them from the top to the wall using drywall anchors and L brackets. Mine has glass doors, so it's prone to tilting forward if it's not anchored.

Do you live adjacent to a freight train yard or between two bowling alleys?

Mount it against the wall. I'd recommend affixing the wall tether so that it doesn't tip. You don't want all your very precious/expensive figure taking a swan dive off of a the equivalent of a ten storey building, and then getting squashed by said building.

I have done both. Mainly due to the floor edging. In recent years I have attached L brackets to all of them. Earlier this year I tripped took a very hard fall and in the process hit my Hemnes (bigger than billy) bookshelf hard. It had a massive amount of legends figures on it. Thing did not budge and nothing even moved. And there have been other times where I have hit my boomshelves where figures did fall. So I always mount them now.

I have a couple of display cases that I purchased through Home Depot. Brand is Fufu & Gaga. Quite nice, large enough to hold quite a few figures, tempered glass doors with heavy aluminum framing, thick wood, and comes with installable led lighting:

I bought a couple of them. $269 each, but with a discount code they were a bit more affordable. They seem to sell out fast when they get into stock.

Other side I just use cheap $40 Target bookcases. The middle console is a Better Homes 9-cube organizer shelf from Walmart for $99.
