Panthers set to retire Roberto Luongo's number during 2019-20 season No surprise to me the Panthers is doing this.
It's a fitting gesture. His best years were with Vancouver, IMO, but his heart was definitely set in Florida.
The last World Cup of Hockey was a preseason money grab. The games were OK, and the best part of it was that it played in prime time in September before the preseason started so I had hockey to watch indoors on the trainer when the weather got yucky.
Joe Thornton to return for 22nd NHL season, signs one-year deal with Sharks I remember when Boston drafted him.
Didn't the preseason officially start on Sunday with the VGK game? On a related note, to any Canadians, you may want to know that you should NOT buy any NHL Live package directly as an in-app purchase on the NHL app through the Apple App Store. Apparently, NHL Live isn't recognizing purchases made that way. They are working on a fix, but they don't know when that is going to take place. They are recommending you buy the package from the NHL Live website. I don't know about the Google app, and I don't know if the same problem affects other app markets.
I was wrong about the Florida/Nashville game. It started the night before. I have seen the NHL Live being advertise, but I prefer to go with ondemand.
NHL Live is a good package (in Canada, anyway) if you've cut the cable, and your favourite team is not where you live. You can basically see any game in the season, and some of the local games are blacked out. It works great... when you can buy it, that is.
I live in NE Alabama and so I should get all the teams, except maybe Nashville. When I lived in Florida, I had both Tampa and Florida on Fox Sports.
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think the Canadian blackout issues on NHL Live will affect American fans. I think you may have local blackouts for some games, but not as bad as they are here. In some parts of Canada, you can't get local games on anything but a cable TV or TV package.
Yep, thank goodness. I think I'd have strong words for the NHLPA if they decided to shake up the CBA.
Sigh, the poor Islanders. They want to play, the city wants them to play. They just don't have anywhere nice to play. In related news, I wonder how the Seattle arena is coming. In unrelated news, what is happening to the Jets? Buf is out? Laine gets a short contract?
I would like to know what are they planning to do with the old Nassau Coliseum. Are they going to demolish it or make it a historical landmark?
Nothing. It'll just be another arena like I said earlier. There are a bunch in the area so it's nothing new. And historical landmark?
