So we just got our last wave of classics toys for a while it seems with the GDO stuff (I was finally able to order a hotspot from ToysRUs lol) so any word or idea of whats coming next in the terms of classics figures for next year at all? I do know theres the Omega Supreme coming.
Energon Bruticus redeco, Seekers reissues, Year of the Snake Omega Supreme (... okay, that one is kinda awesome, I admit)... can't think of any others off the top of my head. Oh, the G2 Jazz, G2 Prime, Legends Thundercracker/Motorbreath 4-pack is getting a domestic release. So... there's that. So that's considerably more than I let on. Sorry.
Most of that isnt even new stuff, the Omega Supreme is awesome tho i was hoping for some new things , shoot when is the last time we had a hasbro classics figure that was a brand new mold? Wreckgar? warpath?
Damn ,lol so we havent had a new classics mold figure since before Dark of the moon so almost a year and a half? thats terrible i just now realized that.
We might have to wait until after TF4, but it seems the "classics" stuff moves well so I don't think Hasbro will abandon the line.
I'm curious to see whether they'll impost some of their "cost-saving measures" into any new Classics toys. Like, will they be smaller? Come with the gimmicky weapons? Have hollow parts? I'm sure at least one of those.
Technically, it is Classics stuff in the same sense. In the CHUG line? Check. G1 characters? Check. Alt modes changed/modernized? Check. Most are in comics that take place in Primax-cluster universes? Check. I don't see how they can't be considered Classics.
30th Anniversary is 2014, so we should see some Classics-related stuff around that time. But Movie 4 is also scheduled for that year, so they might move it up (like how G.I. Joe's 30th was celebrated early). We are also missing a few repaint/remolds (at mass market). Warpath and Perceptor may be coming via Takara/Tomy or Hasbro Asia (presumably as Hardhead and Perceptor, as per the thread in news/rumors). Also, Scourge and Lugnut repaints/remolds, along with the possibility of another reuse of RtS Laser Prime. And hopefully a Hasbro release of RtS Rumble & Frenzy somewhere. +-MWG-+
Don't forget about the Subscription Service. We'll be getting Scourge, Breakdown, and Circuit (yes I count him as a Classics figure)
stuff i would consider Classics Platinum edition Omega Supreme FOC Kickback and Grimlock United Reflector and Hardhead (Possibly Swindle, Starsrcream, Grimlock, and Shockwave?) TFCC Subscription: Breakdown, Scourge, Axor, Slipstream
I don't think Classics have ever came with any gimmicks- except for the built in gimmick of transforming. Their current cost saving techniques of sticking a different head on an aesthetically mismatched body from another line has resulted in cost savings to me in that I'm not spending as much either.
