Hi y´all, thanks for the kind and inspiring feedback in my first two scale threads! Now that the ball is rolling, I thought I´d re-post earlier stuff here, as I have also done some changes to it, and keep the new stuff to this thread.

Also, from now on I will always use an arrow showing the scale, and Optimus Prime and Spike Witwicky as references size-wise, to further visualize how large some bots actually are.

Again, this is for fun only, and I don´t claim the scaling to be 100% exact, the main point is to demonstrate the often huge size disparities between bots who might be equally sized in the cartoon. I welcome critique, but please keep it constructive. I also welcome suggestions on what you would like to see scaled! Also, this is not a one-man show, please feel to contribute with your own pictures!

Now, first out are the Stunticons again:

    Stuntimus 2.JPG

Then, let´s take a look at the Aerialbots:

    Aerialbots to scale w optimus.PNG

The interesting thing is how for both of the teams the limb members are so small that the whole concept of combining becomes redundant... If we compare the two teams, it will look something like this:

    Aerilabots Stunticons Prime.PNG

Silverbolt dwarfs everything in the picture by far, and even a standard jet-limb dwarfs poor Menasor...

Here are the Combaticons. I will the Protectobots as soon as I get hold of good pictures.

    Combaticons Prime.PNG

    NEW: The Protectobots!

    Protectoscale.JPG

Now, let´s look at the Predacons. I have assumed that their beast modes represent the following animal species in a 1:1 scale fashion: Indian rhinoceros, aurochs (the wild ancestor of cattle), Siberian tiger, lion and golden eagle.

    PredaPrime.PNG

Here are the Dinobots! As "Brontosaurus" is an abolished taxon, I have chosen Apatosaurus as Sludge´s alt mode.

    Dinobot Prime.PNG

Now, how do these compare to the Predacons?

    Dino Preda Prime.PNG

    Run Predaking, run!

Blast Off is a Space Shuttle, and I wanted to see how he compares to Astrotrain and Sky Lynx...

    Space Shuttle Prime.PNG

...and then I felt like comparing Astrotrain with Octane, and Octane with Silverbolt (and Starscream and Optimus...)

    Planes and Optimus.JPG

Silverbolt is admittedly gigantic, even beside Octane. But at this point it struck me that he doesn´t really transform into a Concorde, but a giant folded robot with a Concorde strapped to its back, much like Sky Lynx´s "combined" alt-mode (and CW Silverbolt...), providing all the extra bulk. EDIT: Added Blitzwing (based on MIG-25 mode) for full triple changer lineup!!!

That´s all for now! Any feedback is welcome :)

Would love to see Shockwave and Megatron with no size shifting!

I wouldn't have the Predacons the same size as their real life counterparts in beast mode. But I would have the Dinobots the same size as actual dinosaurs. Beast Wars Megatron screws it up because I want him to have a real life sized T-Rex mode even though he's supposed to be tiny.

I haven't logged on in I don't know how long but this thread really made me want to. This is so fun, I laughed my ass off looking at the teeny-tiny limbs on Menasor and Superion and then up comes Bruticus with his new and improved monkey arm.

    So great!

I was thinking about some scaling of my own for some of the comics I draw and I realized that out of the "new" Aerialbots Powerglide turns into the biggest real-life jet after Silverbolt, making him one massive freaking gun irl.

I think I might be using some of these images as basis for some upcoming funny drawings. I could post them in here later on if you guys like?

    I love how you added Predaking's wings at the back anyway! Suddenly Prime's "Disappearium" trailer doesn't seem like G1's biggest reality warp anymore :}

I'm fine with the Dinobots being the same size as real dinosaurs, but the Predacons shouldn't be the same size as real animals.

Nope. Sludge's alternate mode is the fictional dinosaur called the Brontosaurus (for continuities where the Dinobots got their alternate modes in the present day. The bones the paleontologists compiled and called the Brontosaurus is what Sludge's alt mode is based of and should be of the same size. It doesn't matter that the Brontosaurus never actually existed. For Marvel and IDW where the Dinobots were around on Earth millions of years ago, sure, call it an Apatosaurus.

Have you been following the news? Apatosaurus Excelsus is now (again) Brontosaurus Excelsus. A. Louisae and A. Ajax are still Apatosaurus though. So as of like a week ago-----Apatosaurus and Brontosaurus both exist, as well-described specimens, but are their own genera. Considering the history of Excelsus and Ajax, this is pretty much a direct overturning of the original consolidation of Brontosaurus and Apatosaurus.
