If there's any Cybertronian writing in the film it'll be interesting to see if they stick with the Bay symbols (Which never felt to me like they fitted with advanced robots) or something else.

 

maybe they can argue a current lack of energon or that his tcog is broken and they don't have the resources to repair it yet.

 

Oh man, great interview, I love the enthusiasm and desire to dive Transformers into where they are best served, contemporary and historical real world problems. The willingness for Caple Jr. to want to explore that is OUTSTANDING.

Indy 5 won't play too much of an effect imo. It's like 4 weeks after, and the trailer has 10M less views than ROTB. Spider-verse will definitely be more of a challenge, but considering Bumblebee still made a decent amount with poor marketing at the same time the previous Spider-verse movie was out, I still have faith ROTB will do well.

 

Steven Caple Jr. was very adamant on not going into specific story details or spoilers for the movie

at the same time be acknowledged the now common megatron/decepticon origin story but didn't go into detail about it. so

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to start flamewar or anything, but I genuinely don't see how the differences could just be the result of angles and flexing. The knuckles on the packaging are covered in cracked skin, but his hands in the movie have a metal plate between the skin and the fingers that's visible in every shot of the hands, even when they're doing the same pose:



In these shots, his hands are angled inwards as much, and the plate is still visible:



Meanwhile, the patch of skin on the packaging is much larger, and even though the angle is almost showing us what's underneath the skin, the metal plate from the movie is nowhere to be seen:



Also, Primal sure looks like he only has four fingers on the packaging and five in the film, but maybe that is just from the angle. For the design of his abdomen, the packaging has a line running down the center, whereas the design in the movie has a column of plates running down the center with no line and none of the shapes seen on the packaging:



I did notice those teeth in there too. Weird how the bottom teeth seem to be angled out more in the movie, but that could just be lighting.

 

The overseas market is gonna help this film over Spider-Verse. Also I think ATSV will do better than the first due to how popular the first one got after it came out. At the same time while similar the two films are different (animation vs live action). But it being a Spider-Man might hurt ROTB.

 

I mean is that not what the Josh Cooley 2024 Cybertron flick is about? Maybe the end of RotB will tie into that.

 

It was dope seeing him geek out about TF’s and for the most part know what he was talking about.

It was nice hearing him geek out about that.

It’s about Prime and Megs friendship which the rise of Megatron and the Decepticons is obviously a factor in that so technically yeah. I could see it tying in as well.

 

I don't think that scene has much bearing on what characters appear in ROTB. We've heard that this movie has gone through at least one rewrite, and I doubt they were thinking this far ahead when they made Bumblebee.

 

The supposed differences in his abdomen can be explained as simply as his body is twisting slightly to his left while his lower torso and legs face more to his right. They get those package renders in dynamic poses like that all the time. Easily makes it appear as though his midsection has a different structure to it. As I have said multiple times now, it is being viewed from a completely different angle and slightly different pose. Like looking in a mirror made of meat.

As for the hands, refer back to what I said earlier about the image quality (as well as how heavily edited that image is) warping the appearance of textures. They may seem slightly different, but they aren’t. Just motion blur and image quality.

 

Anyone want to bet money they don’t bother explaining how Prime made it off of Cybertron?

omg if they removed them for real i will hate this movie instantly and never ever again have faith and excitment for tf movie, because that's just huge plot hole i expected for 5 years to officialy see who are those 7 characters.

 

he escaped capture and got on a rocket ship. idk. do we have to know every single detail about everything?

 

both of ur fatal flaws is assuming the promotional control art would match the actual movie render. it simply doesnt. and that's fine
