Actually watching that interview really gave me hope that transformers characters are going to have their own character development and the movie is going to have a good storyline. The way he said that at first optimus prime just wants to leave earth and don’t care much about the humans … then primal who’s a veteran and has been on earth for a long time will teach prime and by the end OP will become the saviour we know . Even the terrorcons , he said they are the villians not just the sake of being bad guys … but they have their own reasons for what they do . This shit is making me super excited =)

 

Agreed, I like what he said about connecting to the characters, the till all are one bit, and other things.

 

Here's my two cents on the whole reboot debate.

I don't think I need to explain why Bumblebee being a Bayverse prequel doesn't make sense continuity-wise. The problem is that Paramount doesn't really care what does and doesn't make sense. We've seen this with TLK, and even the original draft of Bumblebee that was intended to be in Bayverse (cause Bumblebee coming to Earth, leaving, then returning in 1987 and the movie acting like Transformers and humans never met is just weird).

If the big wigs think connecting it to Bayverse will attract more viewers due to nostalgia or whatever, they'll push for it. The only hope is that Caple Jr and all the others working on the movie care enough, and have enough strength to push back and give this movie the disconnect it deserves.

 

A reason they might not connect it prequel wise is cause usually (not always) these big studios get scared when something doesn’t do well or make them the money they want. And with TLK not doing that great and making them lose some money idk if they want to go back to that universe.

 

Pretty sure the guy wasn't even a fan; didn't seem like one when I talked to him. I think he just took a picture next to a filming sign cause he thought it was cool to think his car was in a movie.

It's my understanding that it is, and that Porsche helped them get a real Porsche 911 (964) Carrera RS 3.8, since there's only 55 of them. Plus, there's the "PORSCHE" decals on either side of the car that weren't there from the factory, and adding those doesn't really make sense unless the company was involved.

 

I wouldn't take that interview as solid confirmation that ROTB is new continuity. I mean, it can't be a fully new continuity because it's at least in continuity with Bumblebee. He seems to be talking about the general tone and feel of the movie. He's saying it's different than what we've seen before. If you take what he's saying in-context, he's not talking about continuity. Let's not forget test screenings are supposedly saying ROTB is in-continuity with the Bayverse (which comes from known reliable leakers).

True but the thing is how many of them are fans? Cause general audiences aren’t the best always for telling continuity. Because as @QuintusTheExaltedOne said they had a friend or someone they knew who thought that TFP was connected to the films.
