Honestly the dumbasses at Hasbo/Paramount probably thought that by including Bayverse elements, the film would be more familiar with the general audience and make them want to see the movie. But.. that’s not even a good idea cause if people think this is a prequel to Bayverse, they may NOT want to see it because the general audience mostly agrees the Bay films were quite bad. Logically from a business perspective you’d want to steer clear from the film series that got poor reviews but whatever..

Didnt a well known user that was on set say the film is standalone and doesnt really imply Bayverse continuity? He has a podcast I think

ILM isn't doing anything. MPC and Weta Digital are working on ROTB, as Laszlo said, ILM just sent over some concept artists, that's all

Yeah that’s why I personally think the movie is in its own universe, but just borrows elements from the bay series.

The way I see it, someone has a good amount of explaining to do regarding how and why Wheeljack looks so different in this film in bot mode - especially since this is supposed (and I'm using that term loosely) to be a sequel to Bumblebee. . .

you can tell the difference. I do hope they clean up the CGI between now and June and I am sure they will.

Of course. ILM has been doing the CGI for a long time, you can say that ILM grew up with Transformers. They even made their own self-reflection system just for the TF movies by the time TLK came out, or at least that's what I understood from Laszlo because I haven't dug that deep into it. But yeah you can clearly tell the difference. I have no idea who's call was it to totally remove ILM from being involved but it wasn't the brightest decision. I'm sure the guys at MPC and Weta are doing their best but just leaving them independent with such a big movie with no actual help from ILM who has experience doing TF is just wrong, in my opinion. Oh well, I still have some faith because some shots look very good from the Trailer while others not so much.

cuz it looks pretty bad in those scenes lol. they need to composite the characters into the scene more, do some more lighting work. it just looks very early build. who knows how old the footage is though

It honestly looks a lot like the original 70s Camaro design from the first movie, which had the headlights at a similarly intense angle, instead of the BB movie look where the whole front is plopped on his chest. With all of the (fairly inexplicable) Bay-verse touches to Prime I'm not surprised they applied a bit of that to Bee too.

So Prime wants to go home…which is still controlled by Decepticons, right? How does that work?

I guess they’re kind of similar. The ROTB chest’s angle of outward protrusion is definitely significantly more exaggerated though. Especially with how the center of the chest juts out more.

I think the ROTB design would be perfect if the chest pieces just faced straight forward. Not a huge deal though. Just nitpicks and what not.

Scourge is Barricade in disguise since this is the seventh film so he must continue the tradition of only appearing in odd-numbered films, his multiverse clones are also Nightbird and Battletrap, because he really wants to kill Bumblebee.

That's because that model of Prime never transformed it was just his cybertron form with added parts

Even compared to the later scene in the trailer where optimus pulls out his cannon, it’s a STARK contrast. His legs and cannon are not even lit up like they are there. It’s like that scene wasn’t even finished being rendered.

That doesn't mean Optimus has to look anorexic. His gun in the trailer literally spawns out of no where. There is no possible way that gun can logically transform from his arm so I'm sure they could haved figured out how to make the original design transform.

They also could’ve made the gun look more like something Prime would actually use. But that’s already been discussed here I guess. I’m beating a dead horse at this point lol
