The height differences are actually the easiest error to explain (if you were crazy enough to try and connect these two universes that is). As shapeshifting robots with vaguely defined biology, they are perfectly capable of having different heights and dramatically different appearances across multiple films. Bee going from 16 feet to 18 feet in the Bay films is a notable example. Just to showcase it all, here’s my personal height estimations for the reboot characters compared to their Bay counterparts (I’m aware of Bee’s alternate 11.5 height btw. I just use the 15 foot one as his main height):

I don’t recall them actually saying that their agency is Sector 7 in the Bumblebee movie, but if they did, I have three explanations: It was formed after Agent Burns’ initial encounter with Bumblebee and Blitzwing, it was formed in response to previous encounters with Cybertronians like the Terrorcons, Maximals, and Predacons, or it was an organization that was made as a contingency in case the Earth ever discovered hostile alien life (which, in this case, it finally has).

Your guess is as good as mine. Bay Soundwave started out as a massive satellite bot (which concept art gave a 22 foot robot form for) so we actually did witness him shrink between films for no apparent reason. I hope reboot Soundwave just stays large and in charge. It suits him.

The height of the characters is not important when considering if Bumblebee and the Bay movies are in the same timeline. That's a pretty silly argument to make either way.

Agreed. They’re shapeshifting robots with advanced mass shifting technology beyond our understanding after all.

Also, like, it doesn't really matter that much? You don't even have to rationalize it by saying that they're shapeshifting robots (though I won't stop you). To me, it's kinda like arguing that Iron Man can't be in the MCU because Rhodey is played by Don Cheadle in all of the other movies.

When paramount said this is the first of a new trilogy that pretty much says it all studios hate using the word reboot they think oh we fucked up this let's play around with words by saying it's a reboot without using the word reboot but basically saying this

I can see that viewpoint yeah. At least in regards to the physical appearance of a character.

Burns and his unit uniforms had S-7 on them. The arm patch is an octagon in the center of that is an angled cube, and at the top it has a S and the bottom a 7. There is also a scene in the movie where Burns has a short conversation with a young agent Simmons.

not the best quality pic but

Gotcha. Guess I’ll just be keeping those three explanations in mind then.

And they can even dodge the "reboot" term for two other films if they set up this new "trilogy" in the 90's by saying "hey, we're not in the same year as Bayverse so technically it doesn't totally contradict"

Alright, don't take my word as gospel... but I can confirm that Paramount is planning something for December. I know the exact date, but all I can say is that it will be early December.

Will it be for a limited audience or for the public? We don't know.

As soon as I get more info, as soon as I get the greenlight... the news will be on the front page. :)

I'm hoping we get another fan event for this movie like we did with The Last Knight. They have a lot of goodwill to earn back and I think by hosting fan events they can get positive word of mouth out ahead of the movie's release.
