I'd be more interested in Ronan if I knew it wasn't going to be gummy tear apart plastic this time around.
I knew waiting a couple weeks after Walmart slapped one of their dumb "clearanced at full price" stickers on this would pay off
I was looking through my X-Men omnibuses and came to realize that the Forge Hasbro gave us the first time is not actually all that accurate to how he looked in the comics. When he wore the yellow outfit with the brown tassled boots, his robotic leg was not showing except for after a battle when pieces of his pants were torn. Additionally, his belt was red with a round X emblem in the center, not brown and rectangular, while he only had one set of pouches going across his body instead of around the shoulders gear they gave him.
The legends figure is based more on his look during x factor in the 90s. Though the belt seems to change from issue to issue, and even sometimes from the cover to the interior. (Wearing the round buckle on cover and square inside)
the first illustration here shows one of the things that really bugs me about the figure and that is how the cybernetic leg is incorporated into the rest of him. In the comics it ended at the thigh where it met the belts. But on the figure they got lazy and just had to run all the way down to the knee joint where they could pin it to the next section of the leg thereby no doubt saving Hasbro 0.0003 cents on having to mold a new part.
I never got how forge’s cybernetic leg/thigh works? like is it a metal plate around his thigh? is his whole leg cybernetic? if it is then why dress up only below the knee but keep the thigh exposed? how does that work anyways? is the cybernetic leg essentially being cover by a thigh high sock?
He's an amputee. He lost his leg in 'nam. As for why his costume forms around it the way it does? For style points.
That's the thing, his leg is only supposed to be robotic up until his thigh. No idea when it became the whole thing.
Upcoming Disney+ wave reveled. Hawkeye Series Kingpin, Hawkeye Series Yelena, Secret Invasion Nick Fury, Secret Invasion Talos, WandaVision Agatha, What If...? Monica Rambeau or her mother (Maybe) and What If...? Gamora. BAF seems like a silver suit of armor or a robot. Any guesses?
Lol at that tiny picture! Any chance the robot is the Destroyer? That would be an awesome BaF to finally get!
I've heard that or MK 1 Iron Man but I doubt they'd do a non-D+ BAF. It's likely MK 2 Hydra Stomper from the What If Winter Soldier episode.
lol What's interesting is Forge never seemed to be a part of the team until Jim Lee made him one. He seemed to be a more civilian-esque character who was there for Storm to love. Now maybe he did become a part of the team somewhere between issues 193-209, as the omnibus with those issues is not out yet, but he doesn't appear to be with them in Mutant Massacre and in Fall of the Mutants Storm was looking for him.
Forge's primary role in Lifedeath is romantic interest, but I don't think it's fair to consider that his exclusive role. On the other hand, I haven't read the series in years, so maybe my memory inflates him beyond what was in the text. Part of the challenge with the X-Men is that there's so many of them that secondary characters (or tertiary, or lower) can go missing for years until a new creative team has specific goals or roles for them to fulfill.
