Sure are a lot of pins on some of the dudes in that wave! We have come a long way from the old dinky Rocket figures, though.

Great I can’t afford to buy entire Marvel Legends waves which is why I only get an MCU figure here and there but I really want this entire set.

Pinless was a mistake. No one ever noticed pins before unless there was a color-matching issue, now it's a deal breaker on every figure.

People might be more vocal about it now, but that doesn't mean it was never a point of discussion and comparison, when you have many toylines that evolved past them years before Marvel Legends finally got around to it.

Got the not-really-old Hobgoblin. It's amazing how the feet can make a difference in using the glider. Also under the right lighting the colors don't differ that much from the retro release.

Also got a real retro figure DSC01857.JPG

The freakin dog is the Build-A-Figure? It's not really tiny, but still,

I’m curious, MCU stuff used to get the biggest part of the marvel legends budget, more paint/unique sculpt/ect.

They’re reusing several parts from older versions in this wave. I wonder if the last several MCU waves didn’t sell as well and this wave got a reduced budget or if the recent financial problems means ALL marvel legends will have a reduced budget?!

Get ready for some Comic waves with HEAVY Bucky Cap inclusion in the near future.

When I first saw the suits in the trailers I was really interested in getting the full team in those suits. Safe to say I am no longer interested.

The paint leaves a lot to be desired and the accessories are really bad, unless the pictures are omitting something there don't appear to be any alternate hands included with any of the figures. Cosmo is a really lame BAF and seems like they could've just been a pack-in with Rocket.

Cosmo's adorable but I'm not getting an entire wave for just Cosmo, especially when I never bothered to complete the second Vol. 2 wave for Mantis. Maybe I impulse buy Adam Warlock after watching the film. Having a unified look for the team is nice though; maybe a solo Gamora as an exclusive of some kind gets announced later?

If I were still buying MCU figures more regularly, I'd be sad this wave doesn't come with extra hands pretty much across the board.

Good to know that I won´t have to search for a BAF Mantis anymore.

No, it's a deal breaker on $25+ figures.

Anyway, another easy wave to pass on. Thanks Hasbro.

The figures didn't go up in price to accommodate a quality increase.

If I had to spit ball on why that is, I think the best comparison is the last all MCU wave we got, L&T. The comic movie mix waves seem to be better for the MCU team as with those the budget all go towards the MCU figs and the comic figures are usually just heads. L&T faked it till it made it with a a good chuck of reuse, Groot being all reuse, Gold Thor, Korg, and Starlord all being partially reuse. Saves on tooling costs. This wave seems to be pulling something similar with limb reusage.
I agree with this tbh, Pinless vs pinned has gaslight me into passing on so many more figures, mainly just based on how much more solid pinless are in the joints.
We know this, but it doesn't change the value perception regardless, we're paying more for the same or frankly less than what we got two-four years ago.

Hmmm…. The only MCU figures I really wanted to complete is the main GOTG cast…not liking these uniforms at all, though.

It amazes me how many people on this board simply don't understand the concept of inflation. They didn't raise the prices to accommodate the new tooling. They raised the prices for the same reason damned near everything has gone up in price in recent years.

Few thoughts on ToyBiz Doc Ock. Now I know there's still a section of the fandom that still prefers old ToyBiz over modern Hasbro, and yes, some selection of ToyBiz figures still holds up. Doc Ock is not one of them. The figure has weird proportions and the body is not fat enough, the torso has this weird sliding action that I only saw on Juggernaut and still weird here, hip joints can't get close enough to stand straight, and it feels too hollow it can't stand right without getting toppled over by the weight of his arms. The arms are fine. They bend and the claws are articulated, but either due to age or the way they're made they don't bend smoothly as one would expect. It's also quite short. It's like the complete opposite of Hasbro's release that has an accurate body but with non-bendy arms and not articulated claws.
