Not the version of Franklin I really wanted but it's the one I pretty much expected since he's supposed to be packed with Valeria. Still buying it since I really need both of them and who knows how long it could be for a different version to get made. It's based on Slott's run. Probably went with that since this version of him and Val will round out the modern team they did of the Four in the Skrull wave two years back.
Oh yeah, I picked up Moonstone last night. Simple but neat; I'll take re-releases with some minor improvements of old exclusives (X-Force Archangel?), but the low accessory count is unfortunate. I like how the artwork (that doesn't match the costume) seems aghast that she only comes with a neutral head. Still better than buying the old SDCC release off eBay. Spider-Franklin, Spider-Franklin, does whatever a spider-god can, spins a dimension, any size, here comes the Spider-Franklin!
Yeah, the update is freakin' amazing really. I don't even mind the cell shading as it's not very pronounced on this release. The best part is that all of his straps are molded on so you don't have to be worried about re-adjusting them when you pose him or the thigh and shin straps falling down around his ankles if you look at him funny. He's a little pricey and I could have used a blast effect since they obviously gave him a newly tooled head (like, do an alt screaming head that was compatible with the already existing blast effect they've released with two other Cykes now and I'd be set), but well worth it to me for a great rendition of my favorite X-Man. Yeah, one of the things that makes it really awesome is that it's on the new male body they first released as Vulcan. Only odd thing is that they apparently don't have forearms for this mold yet that don't have a glove cut halfway up. It's not terribly distracting though as I didn't even notice it until someone pointed it out in a review.
I'd have to dig my Shriek out to confirm, but it appears to be an older torso and legs for this Moonstone (pinned legs here and wide hips vs Shriek had pinless legs, correct?). Even the arms seem different from Shriek's, as they're buffer and I thought Shriek's were more slender.
oh shit…didn’t see the pins in her legs…somehow. Yeah…no way those are Shriek’s legs, then. Now that you mention it, the lower body (orportions of it) is looking like Rogue/Loki/Black Cat. I can’t quite place the chest and arms.
Looking good. I bought one for me and one for my son a while back. He doesn't know so I have to wait until Christmas. But he's gonna be so thrilled for that Venom and his wings. I can't wait.
