You mean the trunk of your car doesn't also convert out into, say, a Ghostrider themed crime lab? Personally, that's where I do all of my vengeancing. Glad they abandoned the early bird threshold for the Robbie conversion set. Must've seen all the backers dropping out and realized they goofed.
They didn't exactly abandon the threshold since they're not including a full figure, just the alt head and the hood scarf (which is honestly what the base package should have been from the start).
No, the early bird threshold wasn’t abandoned. It failed. It was over. The conversion set is Hasbro’s reaction to the failure and backers dropping out to try to salvage enthusiasm that was declining.
Back on track? Made up all of the losses from day 12. Day 1: 3307 backers Day 2: 3649 backers (increase of 342) Day 3: 3903 backers (increase of 254 Day 4: 4180 backers (increase of 277) Day 5: 4782 backers (increase of 602) (Mephisto bump) Day 6: 5085 backers (increase of 303) Day 7: 5488 backers (increase of 403) Day 8: 5858 backers (increase of 370) Day 9: 5716 backers (decrease of 142) Day 10: 5601 backers (decrease of 115) Day 11: 5487 backers (decrease of 114) Day 12: 5419 backers (decrease of 68) Day 13: 5489 backers (increase of 70) (Robbie head announced)
wow, the backing of all the unlock tiers was only 9000 for the Sentinel? That was pretty conservative in hindsight...Clearly people spoiled Hasbro between that and Galactus to think there could be much more demand for future projects
Whoever’s determining the numbers clearly isnt thinking straight tho, Galactus and Sentinel are two long established and popular characters, and it’s gonna be tough to find characters that’ll elicit similar levels of response to throw into a Haslab.
Real blackbirds are almost 110 feet long, to be accurate, the HasLab would have to be almost 9 feet and probably over $1K. That being said, they could probably give us a modified scale 4-5 foot version that would probably be $500-600.
Like I say: MCU Giant-Man with figures of variations seen in the final battle. He's about Galactus size.
No, you said the early bird incentive was abandoned for the conversion set. Hasbro did not abandon it and replace it with the conversion set. The early bird incentive did not reach its go forward minimum and simply is no longer available. That’s not being abandoned by Hasbro that’s the project simply failing to achieve its minimum. The subsequent addition of the conversion set is completely independent of the failed early bird incentive and the offer is a new add-in to try and salvage the project once the project started losing backers who undoubtedly wanted the early bird incentive. The conversion set pieces themselves may have been originally designed as the early bird incentive but their new inclusion into the project is not because Hasbro abandoned the early bird incentive in favor or adding in this reduced version of it.
I second this motion. Perhaps with tiers of other hard to sell at retail figures such as a comic Mandarin?
That's a cool first tier. All I know is that I want a pants-less Foom (with soft good shorts as an accessory), so I can have a cool ass HUGE dragon looming over all of my other figures.
Now that’s a good one! Personally, I would like to see a Living Tribunal or Eternity. Tbh after Galactus I can’t see any “huge” characters that will require the Haslab treatment after that the 3 I can think of.
With the exception of maybe finding something on a random clearance and that symbiote set that will be releasing later this year, these will be the last ML's I plan to purchase. Feels pretty good, actually!
